At about 65 or 70 days I can no longer scan(except very slowly) with xavgc. I think this has to do with where the data is stored, either on the hard drive or in RAM. Maybe not. If the reason is something like this, with the advent of computers with much larger RAM then before, can I make an adjustment which would permit me to scan for criteria with more than about 65 or 70 days data? tedk

I can't tell you what will or will not speed up the XAVGC function on your system.
As a general rule, exceeding the minimum system requirements is desirable and the better the computer the more improvement you will see in performance. I have personally found increasing RAM normally has the greatest bang for the buck, but this is only true if you are actually running out of physical RAM and using the Hard Drive as Virtual Memory instead.
The listed minimum system requirements for TeleChart are:
Windows 98SE or higher (WinXP recommended) 400mhz CPU (800mhz or faster recommended) 1 Gigabyte of free hard drive space 128mb RAM (256mb RAM or higher recommended) Super VGA monitor that supports 256 colors or higher Minimum screen resolution of 1024x768 Keyboard and a Mouse or compatible pointing device An Internet connection (Dial-up is sufficient)
Some web-based services such as Chat Support and training videos require MacroMedia Flash 7+ (The training videos also require Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher)
TeleChart Platinum users will need Media Player 9 to participate in live Audio Chart Shows
Notes: A 32X CDROM drive or faster would be required to install by CD instead of from our website.
Users of Windows 2000 or Windows XP will need a profile with Administrator Rights. This is the default setting for home computers. If using TeleChart on a work computer you may need to contact your system administrator.
A video card with strong 2-D support and up-to-date drivers is recommended.
The listed minimum system requirements for Blocks Player are:
800mhz CPU (1.3Ghz or faster recommended) 512 megabytes RAM (1 GB or more recommended) Windows Installer 3.1 (Required to install .NET Framework 2.0) Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 50 MB of hard drive space (100 MB or more recommended) Video Card and Monitor that support 1024x768 resolution with 256 colors or more (1280x1024 or higher recommended) An Internet Connection (will work on 56k dial-up connection, but DSL, cable or any other high speed connection highly recommended) Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.01 or later Windows 2000 SP4 or Windows XP (Blocks Player will not run on Windows 95, 98 or ME)

I’m trying to decrease the calculation time of TeleChart 2007. It takes approximately 21 minutes to update my TC2007 with the breakdown and computer configuration profile noted below. Maybe someone at Worden or a user has some suggestions. I have tried various things but have not had much improvement.
If I checked the 5 large ADX PCFs (Do not update this criteria) the calculation time goes down to approximately 6-7 minutes, but I rely on these PCFs.
Questions. 1. Would a new computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo or Quad-Core processor with as much RAM (4-8 GB) help?
2. If there are incorrect PCFs, the calculation time is increased substantially, is there a way to identify any incorrect PCFs?
3. It would be nice if there is some easy way to identify the PCFs which aren’t used in any of the EasyScans. This would reduce the number of active PCFs to calculate.
Approximate Number of EasyScans and PCFs Number of EasyScans : 120 Number of PCFs : 420 Checked Number of PCFs (Do not update this criteria) : 250 UnChecked in the Update : (Include Criteria more than 250 days of history)
