QUOTE (Bruce_L)
It is not realtime. It is still delayed even when using Platinum.
Is Tick & Trin realtime available in latest version of TC2000?
I believe there is a distintion between Tick and $Tick, if so how do they differ and which are realtime and which delayed?
I find it hard to comprehend why Nyse Tick realtime hasn't been available in the past and the lack of this contributed to me ceasing my Platinum subscription.

It was true, but this is no longer the case. The $TICK charts in Platinum are realtime and the $TICK charts in Gold are delayed.
I just checked and $TICK is NOT realtime it is still 15minute delayed on my TC2000 platinum subscription.

Excellent, thank you.

An easyscan for stocks that satisfy the following momentum condition on a low time frame of 1 minute is:
(L>L1 AND L1>L2 AND L2>L3) or (H<H1 AND H1<H2 AND H2<H3)
An easyscan for stocks that are close to their high or low on a daily timeframe is:
abs(C-L)<=(H-L)*0.05 OR abs(H-C)<=(H-L)*0.05
Problem is how to combine both scans for different time frames?
There does not appear to be a natural way to do this, either by creating a single scan condition for different time frames, or by applying each scan sequentially and feeding the results of one scan into the other.
The only option I can see is to flag all symbols that satisfy the first easyscan, then apply the second easyscan and look to see which of those symbols have flags set - which will indicate both conditions are true.
That seems a bit cumbersome, especially when prices are moving quickly, do you have a better method for finding stocks satisfying conditions over more than one time frame?

As far as I am aware the Gold service uses data from The BATS exchange and it can be delayed by up to 15 minutes, which for me that is no better than using the freestockcharts TC2000 service. Looking back in my records I found that I paid $719 for a one year Platinum subscription to TC2000 (12 months for the price of 8 months special offer), purely to ensure true real time charts without the delays of the Gold service. I thought that it would give me an advantage when trading but I doubt that it really has.
Of course I get real time charts from my broker which are adequate but they lack the nice look and ease of use of TC2000. They are the charts that I actually trade with and use TC2000 as a supplement. for planning and stock selection. One thing that TC2000 has been useful for is doing real time scans of the basket of stocks I consider. That isn't essential now as I have other means of doing similar scans for free.
So I'm wondering why bother renewing any subscription to TC2000 at all. What benefit do I get that justifies a Platinum subscription which for another year would be $899.90 plus exchange fees $9.25 per month - thats a total of $1010.90 for one year. Right now I can't think of a reason to renew.
Real time data for charts, conditions and $TICK and $TRIN are what I need but the continuing problems with these put me off.

Bruce,
I have previously complained about points 2 and 3 and it seems to me that 'management ' are not responding to customers needs and suggestions. So as a platinum customer I am considering down grading my subscription to gold when the time comes to renew.
Also I have to say that 99% of the recent upgrades to TC2000 have been of no use to me at all. The default layouts, news feeds and user groups are of no value - and to be blunt they are useless to me.
The PCF is a joke, its too limited. I can see that you are doing your best but some of the PCFs that you produce are very long and merely illustrate that a decent programming tool is needed instead.
When you can't resolve an issue that is posted you tend to respond by saying that it is assigned case number 12345, or whatever. You have responded like that with me and the issues are never resolved - repeat - they are NEVER resolved. That leaves me feeling unimpressed - not with you as I can see that you are simply doing your job.
I can only suggest that 'management' gets its act together and gives priority to responding to customers needs.

Bruce,
Just to be clear, I wasn't trying to bypass any restrictions or terms of conditions of the use of TC2000. I was using the second instance of TC2000 on a laptop simply to keep an eye on a chart while away from the PC that I trade from. In fact I only became aware of the possibility that two instances of TC2000 could be running simultaneously when I read a reply in these forums where someone was asking about using TC2000 on a PC over more than one monitor. Its a while ago now and I can't recall which topic the question was in but my hazy recollection of the suggested solution was to run two instances of TC2000 and place them on seperate monitors.
There is a solution for what I want to do and that is to use remote desktop software (t-VNC which I have used in the past or the latest version TightVNC) to monitor the desktop of the PC running TC2000 and have a realtime image of it displayed on the laptop.

OK, thanks.
Regarding running TC2000 with streaming realtime data from the consolidated tape on more than one PC, until recently this was possible when I used XP professional on a destop PC and also XP professional on a laptop PC, but it wasn't possible if I used a different laptop with windows 7. Therefore running multiple instances of TC2000 seemed to be operating system dependent.
Clearly Worden doesn't want customers to allow anyone else to share their account, wihich I agree with, and thats probably the reason why multiple instances of TC2000 with streaming realtime data from the consolidated tape are not allowed now. I personally found it convenient to run two instances of TC2000, one on a destop PC used for trading and a second instance on a laptop that I can use to monitor while away from the trading PC. I can't do that now and unfortunately the BATS data is too lagging to be usefull.

Why has the option to save the desktop on a local PC been removed?
The new feature of having the layout stored on your servers to what is in effect a roaming profile is proving to be an absolute nuisance.
I use TC2000 on more than one PC and each has different screen resolution, as a result each time I open TC2000 I have to manually adjust the screen layout. One PC has a widescreen 22inch monitor, another has a standard 19inch monitor, another is a laptop. Each of these PCs had their own local layout saved as unique desktop names which are now lost.
I find it incompehensible why this idiotic roaming profile was implemented, it isn't what I want as a customer.
Another facility which has been lost is that whenever I start TC2000 one one PC any other instance already running on another PC stops realtime streaming.
I'm not at all impressed with these changes as I had paid for a years subscription.

Bruce,
In the Webinar:
Webinar: See What's New in TC2000 Version 12.3
tabs are shown and its emphasised how easy it is to change the tab order by right clicking and dragging them. Some time ago I asked if a similar feature could be implemented for workspace tabs at the bottom of the screen but I note that in TC2000 12.3 this feature still isn't available. I have several workspace tabs in use and depending on which PC I use the tabs are in different orders. It seems that the workspace tab order is stored locally on each PC and the only way to order them is to close them all and reopen them in the order I desire, which frankly is downright silly. Could this feature be implemented soon please?
In addition to having TC2000 running on the PC that I use for trading I often have TC2000 running on a laptop purely for monitoring when I'm in another part of the room. A problem with this is that any drawings made on the trading PC don't also appear on TC2000 on the laptop. The only way to refresh TC2000 on the laptop is to close it and start TC2000 again. What is needed is a refresh facility so that the instance of TC2000 running on the laptop can be updated from the TC2000 servers without having to restart it. Could this be implemented please?
Regarding drawing tools, when drawing a rectangle there is no facility for creating a copy of a rectangle with same height and duration, please implement this.
When a chart is created the default options for 'edit price history' don't currently seem to be changable for new charts, so I always have to modify the chart to what I want which is:
Please provide an option to set the defaults for new charts.
Also for 'Chart Color and Grid Settings' the Date Margin defaults to 10% and I always have to manually set it to what I want which is 3% as shown. The option 'apply to...Default for new charts' doesn't work, please fix this.
Thank you.
