Help!
I want the formula for a simple 50 day moving average for those stocks that crossed over today or yesterday. The formula AVGC50 gives me all those stocks that are over the 50 day line and that is not what I want. I want ONLY those stocks that crossed over the 50 day line today or yesterday.

thanks, john

Probably the easiest way to spot these is to plot the 50 day MA in the top window with price, and then do a visual comparison sort...sorting price compared to the MA. Once the sort is done, if you focus on stocks returning values very close to zero, your eyes will pick up very quickly on which stocks crossed in the past day or two.

If you're not familiar with this powerful way to find crossovers, click on the following link to watch a short video that will demonstrate the technique.

If you really want to do it using formulas, here is another video that demonstrates that technique. The formulas may have to be modified to fit your exact need, but once you watch the video, you'll probably be able to figure out how. If not, just ask.
