Bruce, my TC2000 option chains could really use Implied and Historical Volatility columns. :)

Implied Volatility is there to be added. The Option Chain watchlist can have columns added and deleted just like any other.

Historical Volatility would appear to only available for stocks, not options, and the built in function is for 100 days or bars.

So it is (implied volatility) ... when I tried adding columns to my option chain I made the mistake of clicking "Basic" instead of keying "option" into the Search box. My bad. Thanks, b!

I don't know if Historical Volatility means the same thing for options and stocks. Maybe Bruce would know. Once upon a time I thought I saw Bruce write some historical volatility pcfs for stocks. Could be wrong. Even I make mistakes. LOL.

In any case, it would be really useful to be able to compare and even scan for option IV and HV differences. IVolatility.com charts do in a pinch.

Still trying to find out how I can have a condition of today's Implied Volatility of 20 or less and adding that to a column on my watchlist.

So far I have not been successful.  Any assistance would be appreciated.

You can add a column for Implied Volatility to the Option Chain window, but it won't display any values when used as a WatchList Column (the underlying options will have different Implied Volatility).

If you try creating the column in the Option Chain window as a condition instead of as a value column, it will not work.It only works as a value column.

Historical Volatility would need to be added as an Indicator Formula or Custom PCF Indicator as only going to work on the underlying stock.
