Well, TC2000 is officially useless to me and to a whole butt-load of traders. What good is charting software that has a 20 min delay on every single quote? I'll answer for you. It's no good at all. Worden now wants even more money to provide real time quotes. What the hell good is having a Gold account then? Waste of money. I'll simply use TOS, my broker provides it, it's free of charge and they aren't trying to contiually gouge me with an inferior product and price increases.

The delay took my attention too, that's why I entered to this forums to find some answers. Is it correct that they will charge extra to have real time quotes? if that's correct, what is the purspose to pay for a gold membership?

You can still get BATS streaming data in TC2000 v12, it is just not available in TC2000 v16 because it is not compatible with the paper trading feature (which is the biggest new feature in TC2000 v16).
Any real time data feed which is compatible with TC2000 v16 will also get streaming data from the consolidated tape, so it will be a true full streaming real time feed. The BATS feed which comes with Gold in TC2000 v12 only has streaming data from the BATS exchange (which constitutes about 12% of trades). Data from the other exchanges is incorporated into the BATS feed on a fifteen minute delayed basis

Glad I saw this post prior to updating the version I am using... I think. I am using a Gold subscription, and BATS data, as it meets the need. So, if I update the version I am using (12.4.5....) to the latest version (12.6), I would lose the streaming BATS quotes I am currently seeing?

You would not see BATS data in v16, but the BATS data would still be available to you in v12.

I think WB has a great product and service (Bruce you've always been amazing). However, I have to agree with the original post here. Don't provide people a certain level of service (BATS quotes) with a product (in this case gold membership), and then take it away by changing the rules once they're signed up. Not cool at all. Will not be upgrading to V16.
Thanks for pointing this out CdnKodiak.

Be aware too that the Alert Console has been deprecated in v16 unless you sign up for premium live quotes. This is too close to dishonesty. I expected more from Worden.

I won't be upgrading to v16 either as I have no need for paper trading (I'm sure some people do though) and I still can't get my head around why I would pay for e.g. a forex feed which is still free in freestockcharts.com
My question is whether features and services in v12 are likely to be dropped at some point and how that would be communicated, as I'd rather not be paying monthly for a gradually diminishing service without even realising it.
Thanks

I am not aware of any plans to drop TC2000 version 12 or any of its features. If nothing else, TC2000 version 12.5 is currently the only way to run TC2000 natively on a Mac.

The answers to these important questions about TC2000 are inconstant. At first, you said it is just a software bug in V16. Now, it appears like 12.6 will NOT be supported and will die naturally. It appears like Worden Brothers decided to dump loyal TC2000 users and focus on their new brokerage adventure.
We need honest and straightforward answers, even if it is bad news for loyal v12 users. The question about the cost is secondary. If you need to increase the price to keep BATS and other good features in 12.6, just do it ! Do NOT go around ….
Because V16 is NOT designed for real traders, please answer:
Would version 12.6 be supported in years to come and will have the same continuous improvements as it was done during the last few years?

Hey Bruce, a bit upset to lose the realtime when my laptop upgraded itself to v16. I found that I could download v12.6 but it goes to download v16 as it is opening.
The question is, how to roll back and stop it from upgrading each time it opens up.
The old version had all the features I was interested in.
Thanks in advance.

TC2000 version 12.6 should definitely not be automatically upgrading to TC2000 version 16 (it certainly doesn't do so on my computer).
Make sure you are selecting the correct version when running the installation, but if that does not seem to be the issue then please contact technical support.

Thanks Bruce for the November clarification. I too was wondering what was going on. There is no shortage of brilliant programmers (or wisdom) working on TC2000 but I'm a little disappointed too. Though it may be a tall order, there must be a way of temporarily disabling paper trading to allow for the Bats data feed on V16... at least it seems so to me.
Being an old subscriber, I have seen the Worden Brothers pull through many times for it's users (I have never been disappointed for long) and I am totally confident that, given time, they will get this resolved to the satisfaction of all.

Researching how to load 12.6 on new computer, ran into this thread.
Question, why not have an equal platform without paper trading or, if it just can't be done, keep two alternatives readily available instead of pretty much hiding 12.6.
It is not intuitive that you can download 12.6 by clicking use web version--I thought I would be working in 16.

Hi. I was unhappy with taking features away from customers who once signed up specific condition of use. So i quit. I signed up again to see the progress, and i stick to v12. To my shock, the alerts were silently removed too.
"12.6 will continue to be supported but it will not be getting new feautres/upgrades."
should be rephrased to
"12.6 will continue to be supported but it will not be getting new feautres/upgrades, and existing featuers will be removed step by step."
time to study TOS.
thanks!

Alerts have not been removed from TC2000 v12 (be it 12.5 or 12.6).

hi
i signed up to see alerts, but there's no such menu item in v12.6.5661.29885. The menu items are "Edit", "Create Parallel Line", "Move to", "Manage drawings for", "Show drawings toolbar", "Delete drawings", and "Delete". Although action Alert\Trendline produced message "To place a Trenline alert, click on a trendline and select 'Set alert'". Thanks.
BTW on this forum "Post" button, and switching between pages causes this error:

Don't worry, it probably wasn't your fault. The network administrators have been notified.

The alerts don't appear in the menu of TC2000 v12.6, the alerts appear in the TC2000 main toolbar. The alert icon looks like a red alarm clock and will be labeled Alerts if Show Images and Text is checked for TC2000 toolbar.

How can I add an alert for a trendline? It's neccessary, of course, to hightlight the specific trendline first. That's what the red clock menu item also suggests.

Click on the trendline on the chart and select Set Alert.

That's the menu item missing. What I finally did is go through boards #1...#8, Scr and Scr enables the item. it's related to only one chart profile, others still have the menu item in each board.

No, the downloadable version 12.5 for Windows is no longer available. You'll have to run it in the browser.
