Is there a way to make an indicator based on a ratio of two symbols such as  XLY  / XLP?

The Relative Strength (RS) indicator in TC2000 is just the ratio of the active symbol to the comparison symbol. This means if you set the active symbol of a RS indicator to XLY and the comparison symbol to XLP, the RS indicator will plot the ratio of XLY to XLP.

Setting the comparison symbol to XLP is just a matter of clicking on the RS indicator on the chart, choosing Edit and setting Symbol to XLP.

You could then switch the main symbol on the chart to XLY to display the ratio of XLY to XLP.

If you want to display the ratio of XLY to XLP even when the active symbol is set to something other than XLY, you will need to be using TC2000 version 12.4. If you do not already have TC2000 version 12.4, you can run and install it at the following website:

http://www.tc2000.com/

You will need to add XLY to the chart as its own plot. To do this, click on Add Plot to Chart (the green + in the upper left of the chart) and start typing XLY in the search box. When XLY gets high enough in the list that you can see it, click on it to add it as its own plot to the chart.

You can then click on the Relative Strength indicator and select Change Data Source to set the symbol being used in the numerator to XLY by choosing the plot of XLY from the list which appears.

It is not possible to pin the XLY pane to the side when using it as the Data Source for another indicator. If you do not want to see it, you might want to move it into the same pane as the Relative Strength indicator and then edit it to so you can drag the Opacity all the way to the left to make it invisible.
