I was reading something by a trader who plots "a 3-10 simple moving average oscillator with a 16-period MA of the oscillator" ..."For simplicity's sake we will refer to the 3-10 moving average oscillator as our 'fast oscillator' and to the 16-period moving average of the 3-10 as the 'stability of trend' line, or the slow line."
Any way of creating that on Telechart?
Is this the same as MACD?
If so, what would be the settings, or how can you set this up in a chart template?

I can't tell the difference between the described indicator and a Simple MACD 3,10,16 with Plot Histogram unchecked.

Thanks... The other question is:
How do I set a PCF (or an EZ Scan?) to find stocks within a personal watchlist that have the 16-period SMA (the SMA of the MACD or oscillator, as above) moving up above the zero line?
Or in other words, a way to spot this SMA (the slow line) as it is about to move above the zero line.

QUOTE (BRGZZ) How do I set a PCF (or an EZ Scan?) to find stocks within a personal watchlist that have the 16-period SMA (the SMA of the MACD or oscillator, as above) moving up above the zero line?
Try using the following Personal Criteria Formula as an EasyScan Condition:
AVGC3 - AVGC10 - AVG(AVGC3,16) + AVG(AVGC10,16) > 0 AND AVGC3.1 - AVGC10.1 - AVG(AVGC3.1,16) + AVG(AVGC10.1,16) <= 0
QUOTE (BRGZZ) Or in other words, a way to spot this SMA (the slow line) as it is about to move above the zero line.
Despite the use of the phrase, "in other words", this is not the same question and I do not know how to write a formula to do so.

The PCF would be showing stocks that have the slow 16 SMA below zero, but close to zero?
Some of the stocks in the watchlist with the 16-SMA above zero do not show up after the scan is executed.

Sorry, the above formula was for the Histogram, The formula for the Signal Line should actually be:
AVG(AVGC3,16) - AVG(AVGC10,16) > 0 AND AVG(AVGC3.1,16) - AVG(AVGC10.1,16) <= 0

That should work as the description of the 3-10 Oscillator would seem to be the same as that of a Simple MACD with the settings described.
Note that this answer is for the question below. There was a problem with the forums which caused the question to get posted with the wrong timestamp.

1. 3-10 oscillator. The 3-10 oscillator
is “something I’ve been using since
1981,” Raschke says. “It’s the difference between a three-day simple
moving average and a 10-day simple
moving average. Plus, there’s a second line which is a 16-period simple
moving average of the 3-10 line.
“On a chart, I usually just alter the
settings for an MACD (moving average
convergence-divergence indicator) ,
changing the moving average type
from exponential to simple and the
moving average lengths to 3, 10 and
16.”
