i am a subscriber to the expensive vector vest database system (cost is $650 per year to start with)

what i like about it is:

1 - data on 7,000 stocks
2 - earnings data (current and earnings yields)
3 - dividend data (current and historical)
4 - hard valuation numbers on stock value (based on published formula)
5 - hard valueation (formula based) on the relative value, and safety (volitility) of stocks
6 - overall valuation on stock (formula) that combines value, safety, and timing

what i don't like is:

1 - worse stock charts anywhere - weak weak weak - misleading - for both ups and downs
2 - too many buy signals (almost everything inthe database is a buy
3 - the system keeps signing me out if if am not active for 20 or 30 minutes (annoying and minor)
4 - it is very expensive and i have not found anything quite like it yet (i also tried IBD)

i am retired and my portfolio is about 80% in rock of gibralter stuff that pays high dividends and has a good growth possibility (no rocket ships)
i am devoting the other 20 % of my portfolio (about $25,000) to short term gainers and i want to hit some home runs here and i have had a few (e.g. bought able at $5, bought bsic at $2 - etc) - my strategy here is to focus on stocks under $10 that have or are reaching 52 week highs (or new highs) and are showing some volume and using vector vest i favor those that have some fundamental VALUE - so far so good

HOW WILL TC 2005 help me to Improve My gains and find more home runs and to exit more quickly when i pick one that isn't going anywhere but down

sorry to run on so much - thanks for reading - stay well - invest well - and enjoy all of your success

Unlike Vector Vest, TeleChart does not generate any type of signal for stocks. The program was designed for traders that make their own trading decisions. It has all the tools you need to manipulate and analyze the data to make your own decisions about the strength or weakness in a stock.

TeleChart will not improve you gains anymore than a nice hammer makes a better house. If your gains improve or worsen when using TeleChart, it is you who gets the credit.

TeleChart contains data on all of the common stocks on the three major exchanges (just under 7k). Earnings and dividend data is in the system and historical data on both are in Worden Studio. Any valuations are generated by the user.

There is a 30-day free evaluation period on the program and the data. I would recomend you check it out!

thanks for the quick response
i have already signed up for the free 30 day trial and can see that this is
a great system and i will probably buy the 1 yr subscription and if i am
really successful i will get the ultra premium $99 a month plan

thank you again for the direct answer

this is a solo player game for the most part (99%)

nice to have some contact with another who is in the game

final question - vector vest had a list of all stocks making new highs
and list of stocks reaching 52 week highs

i poked around for an hour or so today and wonder if those lists are
avail in this system

stay well and happy investing and happy living

They sure are....

You will need to create a PCF with the following formula:

H/MAXH250*100

This PCF will return the high today as a percent of the highest high in the last 250 trading days (including today). A value of 100 means today is the 52 week high. A value of 98 tells you today's high is 98% of the value of the 52-week high, etc.

You could use this condition in an EasyScan or as a sort. Here are some videos to help you with this all.

Welcome to the TeleChart family... you let Doug, Bruce and I know if you need anything.

Billboyd; Living in a small town in the PA mountains I have experienced the same "no one to talk to" problems. You might try the following; check out user groups that may be in your travel range, (removed by Moderator) - local chapters (under events on left side of window) - select from locations. Many have SIG groups for Telechart, MetaStock, VectorVest, etc. Also check with TeleCharts for their listing of user groups (you have to email them). This is a great way to meet up with people in your area that have similiar interests. Feal free to email me if you want more info; (removed by Moderator).

billboyd,

By this and your other posts, I see that you would be interested in the Platinum Serivce. The chat and clubs that are included with the Platinum service might be exactly what you're looking for. There is so much information and sharing of ideas it's nearly impossible not to find a club that fits your trading style.

I've seen many new investors on the Platinum service and I always reccomend a few clubs for them to join to get their feet wet. It's nice to watch those same users grow into successful investors.
