I am trying to create a formula for price within 1% of the 8 exponential moving average. The system keeps saying I have an error and a ( is expected at position 7. This doesn't make sense to me. Can you tell me where I've gone wrong?

C<(XAVG8*1.01) and C>(XAVG8*.99)

How do I set exact numbers for the high and low when using Fibonacci retracement tool? It seems like I have to click and drag, and then it's never exact unless I get lucky.

Bruce,

Thank you very much for your help. You have a knack for finding every mistake I make -- you not only patiently answer the question you think I intend to ask, but also provide an answer for what I did indeed ask. Yes I didn't want to ask about dollar volume; it was supposed to be "1 million shares".

Thank you for all you do and sorry to have created extra work for you! Your answer helped me a lot!

Have a good one

How do you say "average daily volume over the past 30 days is greater than $1mil"? Do you have to create a condition that adds v+v1+v2+v3 etc, all the way up to v29, and then divide by 30? Or does "avgv30" create the same answer? I want to create the PCF which states volume over a period of time and not just at one point of time in the past.

Thank you for your help

Thanks, Bruce! I understand everything. I didn't know that you have to delete and re-add to reflect the changes.

Is there anything besides the PCF examples and the webinars that would help me learn this language? It is hard to understand "ranges", for example, - like if you want to ask for certain criteria "within" the past x number of days. This type of thing isn't covered much.

I'm trying to create a PCF for high volume and price going up at the same time, within the last 4 weeks. I'm getting confused on the use of parentheses, as my scan is not catching some stocks it should be catching. Can you tell me if the parentheses are correct? I am looking for weekly volume that is at least 2.8 times greater than the previous week, with close this week being at least 5% higher than close of last week. Here is what I've written:

(v>avgv50.1*2.8 and c>c1*1.05) or (v1>avgv50.2*2.8 and c1>c2*1.05) or (v2>avgv50.3*2.8 and c2>c3*1.05) or (v3>avgv50.4*2.8 and c3>c4*1.05) or (v4>avgv50.5*2.8 and c4>c5*1.05)

Thanks for your help!

Bruce, I'm trying to write a PCF to find stocks whose volume is greater than or equal to 1.5 times the 50ma of volume, plus whose close today is greater than close yesterday. This is what I have written - is it correct? v>=avg50.1*1.5 and c>c1

Thanks for your help

Bruce I left out a digit in my original post. It's (maxh60.1/minl60.1)<=minl60.1*1.15
