I have been trying to write a PCF to find evening star and morning start formations...can someone show me how to do it?

Thanks,
Eric

(note that this is the procedure I go through anytime I am looking for a candle pattern. Candle patterns are only relationships between four elements per bar)

These patterns focus on the following relationships

Close two days ago vs open two days ago

Top of the body two days ago vs bottom of the body yesterday

Bottom of the body two days ago vs top of the body yesterday

Close today vs open today

Top of Body 2 days ago vs Top of Body today

Bottom of Body 2 days ago vs Bottom of Body today

Now I will create PCFs that reveal these six relationships. Each of these are seperate PCFs and need to be created and added to your system. One for each relationship.

Close as % Open 2days ago
C2/O2*100

Body Top 2days ago vs. Body bottom yesterday
((((C2>O2)*C2) + ((O2>C2)*O2))*(-1)) / ((((C1<O1)*C1) + ((O1<C1)*O1))*(-1))*100

Body bottom 2days ago vs. Body top yesterday
((((C2<O2)*C2) + ((O2<C2)*O2))*(-1)) / ((((C1>O1)*C1) + ((O1>C1)*O1))*(-1))*100

Close as % Open today
C/O*100

Body Top 2days ago vs Body Top today
(((-1)*(C2>O2)*C2) + ((-1)*(C2<O2)*O2))/(((-1)*(C>O)*C) + ((-1)*(C<O)*O))*100

Body bottom 2days ago vs Body bottom today
(((-1)*(C2<O2)*C2) + ((-1)*(C2>O2)*O2))/(((-1)*(C<O)*C) + ((-1)*(C>O)*O))*100

Once you have these six PCFs created you can now create two scans. Once for morning, one for evening

Here are the conditions and limits to use:

Morning Star

Close as % Open 2days ago
(VALUE MIN to 100)

Body bottom 2days ago vs. Body top yesterday
(VALUE 100 to MAX)

Close as % Open today
(VALUE 100 to MAX)

Body Top 2days ago vs Body Top today
(VALUE 100 to MAX)

Body bottom 2days ago vs Body bottom today
(VALUE MIN to 100)

Evening Star

Close as % Open 2days ago
(VALUE 100 to MAX)

Body Top 2days ago vs. Body bottom yesterday
(VALUE MIN to 100)

Close as % Open today
(VALUE MIN to 100)

Body Top 2days ago vs Body Top today
(VALUE 100 to MAX)

Body bottom 2days ago vs Body bottom today
(VALUE MIN to 100)

(note that these pattern are supposed to be occuring in the context of an up or down trend)

I would sort the resulting WatchList each EasyScan creates by Price Percent Change 1 Month in ascending or descending order so they are ranked by their 1-month trend.
