I would love to get the Ultimate Oscillator(7,14,28), Aroon(25) and Aroon oscillator(25) programmed into my Telechart. Can this be done with the 'custom' indicator tab?

I've created a separate post for the Aroon Indicators and Oscillator. The following can be used as a Personal Criteria Formula or plotted as a Custom Indicator (it takes several seconds to switch symbols when used as a Custom Indicator):

Ultimate Oscillator (7,14,28):

(400 * (14 * AVGC7 - 7 * AVGL7 - 7 * AVGC7.1 + ABS(L - C1) + ABS(L1 - C2) + ABS(L2 - C3) + ABS(L3 - C4) + ABS(L4 - C5) + ABS(L5 - C6) + ABS(L6 - C7)) / (7 * AVGH7 - 7 * AVGL7 + ABS(H - C1) + ABS(L - C1) + ABS(H1 - C2) + ABS(L1 - C2) + ABS(H2 - C3) + ABS(L2 - C3) + ABS(H3 - C4) + ABS(L3 - C4) + ABS(H4 - C5) + ABS(L4 - C5) + ABS(H5 - C6) + ABS(L5 - C6) + ABS(H6 - C7) + ABS(L6 - C7)) + 200 * (28 * AVGC14 - 14 * AVGL14 - 14 * AVGC14.1 + ABS(L - C1) + ABS(L1 - C2) + ABS(L2 - C3) + ABS(L3 - C4) + ABS(L4 - C5) + ABS(L5 - C6) + ABS(L6 - C7) + ABS(L7 - C8) + ABS(L8 - C9) + ABS(L9 - C10) + ABS(L10 - C11) + ABS(L11 - C12) + ABS(L12 - C13) + ABS(L13 - C14)) / (14 * AVGH14 - 14 * AVGL14 + ABS(H - C1) + ABS(L - C1) + ABS(H1 - C2) + ABS(L1 - C2) + ABS(H2 - C3) + ABS(L2 - C3) + ABS(H3 - C4) + ABS(L3 - C4) + ABS(H4 - C5) + ABS(L4 - C5) + ABS(H5 - C6) + ABS(L5 - C6) + ABS(H6 - C7) + ABS(L6 - C7) + ABS(H7 - C8) + ABS(L7 - C8) + ABS(H8 - C9) + ABS(L8 - C9) + ABS(H9 - C10) + ABS(L9 - C10) + ABS(H10 - C11) + ABS(L10 - C11) + ABS(H11 - C12) + ABS(L11 - C12) + ABS(H12 - C13) + ABS(L12 - C13) + ABS(H13 - C14) + ABS(L13 - C14)) + 100 * (56 * AVGC28 - 28 * AVGL28 - 28 * AVGC28.1 + ABS(L - C1) + ABS(L1 - C2) + ABS(L2 - C3) + ABS(L3 - C4) + ABS(L4 - C5) + ABS(L5 - C6) + ABS(L6 - C7) + ABS(L7 - C8) + ABS(L8 - C9) + ABS(L9 - C10) + ABS(L10 - C11) + ABS(L11 - C12) + ABS(L12 - C13) + ABS(L13 - C14) + ABS(L14 - C15) + ABS(L15 - C16) + ABS(L16 - C17) + ABS(L17 - C18) + ABS(L18 - C19) + ABS(L19 - C20) + ABS(L20 - C21) + ABS(L21 - C22) + ABS(L22 - C23) + ABS(L23 - C24) + ABS(L24 - C25) + ABS(L25 - C26) + ABS(L26 - C27) + ABS(L27 - C28)) / (28 * AVGH28 - 28 * AVGL28 + ABS(H - C1) + ABS(L - C1) + ABS(H1 - C2) + ABS(L1 - C2) + ABS(H2 - C3) + ABS(L2 - C3) + ABS(H3 - C4) + ABS(L3 - C4) + ABS(H4 - C5) + ABS(L4 - C5) + ABS(H5 - C6) + ABS(L5 - C6) + ABS(H6 - C7) + ABS(L6 - C7) + ABS(H7 - C8) + ABS(L7 - C8) + ABS(H8 - C9) + ABS(L8 - C9) + ABS(H9 - C10) + ABS(L9 - C10) + ABS(H10 - C11) + ABS(L10 - C11) + ABS(H11 - C12) + ABS(L11 - C12) + ABS(H12 - C13) + ABS(L12 - C13) + ABS(H13 - C14) + ABS(L13 - C14) + ABS(H14 - C15) + ABS(L14 - C15) + ABS(H15 - C16) + ABS(L15 - C16) + ABS(H16 - C17) + ABS(L16 - C17) + ABS(H17 - C18) + ABS(L17 - C18) + ABS(H18 - C19) + ABS(L18 - C19) + ABS(H19 - C20) + ABS(L19 - C20) + ABS(H20 - C21) + ABS(L20 - C21) + ABS(H21 - C22) + ABS(L21 - C22) + ABS(H22 - C23) + ABS(L22 - C23) + ABS(H23 - C24) + ABS(L23 - C24) + ABS(H24 - C25) + ABS(L24 - C25) + ABS(H25 - C26) + ABS(L25 - C26) + ABS(H26 - C27) + ABS(L26 - C27) + ABS(H27 - C28) + ABS(L27 - C28))) / 7

I have been trying to write an Ultimate Oscillator (8,10, 28) from the formula posted by Bruce a few months ago. I understood the 3 time frames. However, I don't understand to what correspond the multiplicators "400", "200" and "100". Would anybody have an explanation? Thanks

The Ultimate Oscillator is calculated for 3 different time frames which are weighted at a ratio of 4xShort/2xMedium/1xLong. The weighting is the reason for both the 400, 200 and 100 multipliers and the /7 at the end of the formula.

Ultimate Oscillator (8,10,28):

(400 * (16 * AVGC8 - 8 * AVGL8 - 8 * AVGC8.1 + ABS(L - C1) + ABS(L1 - C2) + ABS(L2 - C3) + ABS(L3 - C4) + ABS(L4 - C5) + ABS(L5 - C6) + ABS(L6 - C7) + ABS(L7 - C8)) / (8 * AVGH8 - 8 * AVGL8 + ABS(H - C1) + ABS(L - C1) + ABS(H1 - C2) + ABS(L1 - C2) + ABS(H2 - C3) + ABS(L2 - C3) + ABS(H3 - C4) + ABS(L3 - C4) + ABS(H4 - C5) + ABS(L4 - C5) + ABS(H5 - C6) + ABS(L5 - C6) + ABS(H6 - C7) + ABS(L6 - C7) + ABS(H7 - C8) + ABS(L7 - C8)) + 200 * (20 * AVGC10 - 10 * AVGL10 - 10 * AVGC10.1 + ABS(L - C1) + ABS(L1 - C2) + ABS(L2 - C3) + ABS(L3 - C4) + ABS(L4 - C5) + ABS(L5 - C6) + ABS(L6 - C7) + ABS(L7 - C8) + ABS(L8 - C9) + ABS(L9 - C10)) / (10 * AVGH10 - 10 * AVGL10 + ABS(H - C1) + ABS(L - C1) + ABS(H1 - C2) + ABS(L1 - C2) + ABS(H2 - C3) + ABS(L2 - C3) + ABS(H3 - C4) + ABS(L3 - C4) + ABS(H4 - C5) + ABS(L4 - C5) + ABS(H5 - C6) + ABS(L5 - C6) + ABS(H6 - C7) + ABS(L6 - C7) + ABS(H7 - C8) + ABS(L7 - C8) + ABS(H8 - C9) + ABS(L8 - C9) + ABS(H9 - C10) + ABS(L9 - C10)) + 100 * (56 * AVGC28 - 28 * AVGL28 - 28 * AVGC28.1 + ABS(L - C1) + ABS(L1 - C2) + ABS(L2 - C3) + ABS(L3 - C4) + ABS(L4 - C5) + ABS(L5 - C6) + ABS(L6 - C7) + ABS(L7 - C8) + ABS(L8 - C9) + ABS(L9 - C10) + ABS(L10 - C11) + ABS(L11 - C12) + ABS(L12 - C13) + ABS(L13 - C14) + ABS(L14 - C15) + ABS(L15 - C16) + ABS(L16 - C17) + ABS(L17 - C18) + ABS(L18 - C19) + ABS(L19 - C20) + ABS(L20 - C21) + ABS(L21 - C22) + ABS(L22 - C23) + ABS(L23 - C24) + ABS(L24 - C25) + ABS(L25 - C26) + ABS(L26 - C27) + ABS(L27 - C28)) / (28 * AVGH28 - 28 * AVGL28 + ABS(H - C1) + ABS(L - C1) + ABS(H1 - C2) + ABS(L1 - C2) + ABS(H2 - C3) + ABS(L2 - C3) + ABS(H3 - C4) + ABS(L3 - C4) + ABS(H4 - C5) + ABS(L4 - C5) + ABS(H5 - C6) + ABS(L5 - C6) + ABS(H6 - C7) + ABS(L6 - C7) + ABS(H7 - C8) + ABS(L7 - C8) + ABS(H8 - C9) + ABS(L8 - C9) + ABS(H9 - C10) + ABS(L9 - C10) + ABS(H10 - C11) + ABS(L10 - C11) + ABS(H11 - C12) + ABS(L11 - C12) + ABS(H12 - C13) + ABS(L12 - C13) + ABS(H13 - C14) + ABS(L13 - C14) + ABS(H14 - C15) + ABS(L14 - C15) + ABS(H15 - C16) + ABS(L15 - C16) + ABS(H16 - C17) + ABS(L16 - C17) + ABS(H17 - C18) + ABS(L17 - C18) + ABS(H18 - C19) + ABS(L18 - C19) + ABS(H19 - C20) + ABS(L19 - C20) + ABS(H20 - C21) + ABS(L20 - C21) + ABS(H21 - C22) + ABS(L21 - C22) + ABS(H22 - C23) + ABS(L22 - C23) + ABS(H23 - C24) + ABS(L23 - C24) + ABS(H24 - C25) + ABS(L24 - C25) + ABS(H25 - C26) + ABS(L25 - C26) + ABS(H26 - C27) + ABS(L26 - C27) + ABS(H27 - C28) + ABS(L27 - C28))) / 7

Bruce,

I know it may seem like chasing windmills but could you show me a PCF for the Ultimate Oscillator with 8,13,21

How are you developing these formulae, do you have a unique program?

Thank you in advance!

The program I use is not particularly unique, I use a spreadsheet. Please try the following:

Ultimate Oscillator (8,13,21):

(400 * (16 * AVGC8 - 8 * AVGL8 - 8 * AVGC8.1 + ABS(L - C1) + ABS(L1 - C2) + ABS(L2 - C3) + ABS(L3 - C4) + ABS(L4 - C5) + ABS(L5 - C6) + ABS(L6 - C7) + ABS(L7 - C8)) / (8 * AVGH8 - 8 * AVGL8 + ABS(H - C1) + ABS(L - C1) + ABS(H1 - C2) + ABS(L1 - C2) + ABS(H2 - C3) + ABS(L2 - C3) + ABS(H3 - C4) + ABS(L3 - C4) + ABS(H4 - C5) + ABS(L4 - C5) + ABS(H5 - C6) + ABS(L5 - C6) + ABS(H6 - C7) + ABS(L6 - C7) + ABS(H7 - C8) + ABS(L7 - C8)) + 200 * (26 * AVGC13 - 13 * AVGL13 - 13 * AVGC13.1 + ABS(L - C1) + ABS(L1 - C2) + ABS(L2 - C3) + ABS(L3 - C4) + ABS(L4 - C5) + ABS(L5 - C6) + ABS(L6 - C7) + ABS(L7 - C8) + ABS(L8 - C9) + ABS(L9 - C10) + ABS(L10 - C11) + ABS(L11 - C12) + ABS(L12 - C13)) / (13 * AVGH13 - 13 * AVGL13 + ABS(H - C1) + ABS(L - C1) + ABS(H1 - C2) + ABS(L1 - C2) + ABS(H2 - C3) + ABS(L2 - C3) + ABS(H3 - C4) + ABS(L3 - C4) + ABS(H4 - C5) + ABS(L4 - C5) + ABS(H5 - C6) + ABS(L5 - C6) + ABS(H6 - C7) + ABS(L6 - C7) + ABS(H7 - C8) + ABS(L7 - C8) + ABS(H8 - C9) + ABS(L8 - C9) + ABS(H9 - C10) + ABS(L9 - C10) + ABS(H10 - C11) + ABS(L10 - C11) + ABS(H11 - C12) + ABS(L11 - C12) + ABS(H12 - C13) + ABS(L12 - C13)) + 100 * (42 * AVGC21 - 21 * AVGL21 - 21 * AVGC21.1 + ABS(L - C1) + ABS(L1 - C2) + ABS(L2 - C3) + ABS(L3 - C4) + ABS(L4 - C5) + ABS(L5 - C6) + ABS(L6 - C7) + ABS(L7 - C8) + ABS(L8 - C9) + ABS(L9 - C10) + ABS(L10 - C11) + ABS(L11 - C12) + ABS(L12 - C13) + ABS(L13 - C14) + ABS(L14 - C15) + ABS(L15 - C16) + ABS(L16 - C17) + ABS(L17 - C18) + ABS(L18 - C19) + ABS(L19 - C20) + ABS(L20 - C21)) / (21 * AVGH21 - 21 * AVGL21 + ABS(H - C1) + ABS(L - C1) + ABS(H1 - C2) + ABS(L1 - C2) + ABS(H2 - C3) + ABS(L2 - C3) + ABS(H3 - C4) + ABS(L3 - C4) + ABS(H4 - C5) + ABS(L4 - C5) + ABS(H5 - C6) + ABS(L5 - C6) + ABS(H6 - C7) + ABS(L6 - C7) + ABS(H7 - C8) + ABS(L7 - C8) + ABS(H8 - C9) + ABS(L8 - C9) + ABS(H9 - C10) + ABS(L9 - C10) + ABS(H10 - C11) + ABS(L10 - C11) + ABS(H11 - C12) + ABS(L11 - C12) + ABS(H12 - C13) + ABS(L12 - C13) + ABS(H13 - C14) + ABS(L13 - C14) + ABS(H14 - C15) + ABS(L14 - C15) + ABS(H15 - C16) + ABS(L15 - C16) + ABS(H16 - C17) + ABS(L16 - C17) + ABS(H17 - C18) + ABS(L17 - C18) + ABS(H18 - C19) + ABS(L18 - C19) + ABS(H19 - C20) + ABS(L19 - C20) + ABS(H20 - C21) + ABS(L20 - C21))) / 7

Thanks Bruce, I read that post before posting my own, that post seems to be for an Ultimate Oscillator (8,10,28). I read somewhere else that the usual setting is for (7,14,28) : http://stockcharts.com/school/doku.php?id=chart_school:technical_indicators:ultimate_oscillator : "The typical values are 7, 14 and 28 which are the default entries for this indicator." Is there a significant difference between (8,10,28) and (7,14,28) ?

Regards

You didn't scroll up far enough.  The one for (7,14,28) is up there as well.

Bruce can you create for Periods as follows

settig (2,4,8)

settng (2.1,4.1,8.1)      <  --------- IF THIS IS THE (2,4,8) VALUE OF 1 BARS AGO

setting (2.2, 4.2, 8.2)  < ----- IF THIS IS TH (2,4,8) VALUE OF 2 BARS AGO

I know i can do this with moving averages BUT with formulas i can create a condition with all included for use in 1 Easy Scan instead of 3

Thanks

Please try the following Indicator Formulas.

Ultimate Oscillator (2,4,8):

(400 * (4 * AVGC2 - 2 * AVGL2 - 2 * AVGC2.1 + ABS(L - C1) + ABS(L1 - C2)) / (2 * AVGH2 - 2 * AVGL2 + ABS(H - C1) + ABS(L - C1) + ABS(H1 - C2) + ABS(L1 - C2)) + 200 * (8 * AVGC4 - 4 * AVGL4 - 4 * AVGC4.1 + ABS(L - C1) + ABS(L1 - C2) + ABS(L2 - C3) + ABS(L3 - C4)) / (4 * AVGH4 - 4 * AVGL4 + ABS(H - C1) + ABS(L - C1) + ABS(H1 - C2) + ABS(L1 - C2) + ABS(H2 - C3) + ABS(L2 - C3) + ABS(H3 - C4) + ABS(L3 - C4)) + 100 * (16 * AVGC8 - 8 * AVGL8 - 8 * AVGC8.1 + ABS(L - C1) + ABS(L1 - C2) + ABS(L2 - C3) + ABS(L3 - C4) + ABS(L4 - C5) + ABS(L5 - C6) + ABS(L6 - C7) + ABS(L7 - C8)) / (8 * AVGH8 - 8 * AVGL8 + ABS(H - C1) + ABS(L - C1) + ABS(H1 - C2) + ABS(L1 - C2) + ABS(H2 - C3) + ABS(L2 - C3) + ABS(H3 - C4) + ABS(L3 - C4) + ABS(H4 - C5) + ABS(L4 - C5) + ABS(H5 - C6) + ABS(L5 - C6) + ABS(H6 - C7) + ABS(L6 - C7) + ABS(H7 - C8) + ABS(L7 - C8))) / 7
