Hi,
I am considering buying a Windows 8 tablet (Surface or Samsung) and install SF5.
Anybody here who already tried it ? If you did, could you please share your impressions.
Thanks

StockFinder will run in Windows 8 (the x-86 based version), but it will not work on Windows RT which is what is installed on the tablets.

Thank you StockGuy, yes I am aware of the difference between the 2 Windows versions.
Did you install SF5 on a Windows8 tablet ? If yes, which one, and what was your impression regarding the performance ?
In your oppinion, should I buy
Samsung ATIV Smart PC Pro 700T 11.6" 128GB Windows 8 Tablet With Intel Core i5 Processor
or
Samsung 11.6" 64GB Windows 8 Tablet With Intel Atom Z2760 Processor
The first one has better hardware (4GB RAM), the second one is cheaper by 300$.
Thank you

Flash, I'm interested, whatever you do, please post your results.
Also have you considered, or has anyone tried, a remote desktop connection from tablet/notebook to your desktop PC running SF? Teamviewer, for instance.

I have not run StockFinder on an x86 tablet or netbook. In most cases, the minimum system requirements would be met. There would even be a higher probability of having an SSD which can be quite nice with StockFinder. That said, the processor and available RAM on such systems is usually on the low end and the better your computer performs, the better StockFinder usually performs.
I run StockFinder primarily on a two and a half year old laptop that wasn't on the high end when it was bought. That said, it still has an i5 processor and 4GB of RAM. It has no problems with the stuff I do, but will actually lock up trying to run some of the more complicated stuff I have been sent by customers to troubleshoot.
I have run StockFinder (and all of our other programs) remotely from a tablet. Our programs seem to run quite well even when the tablet doesn't have a particularly good internet connection. I used Splashtop, but I'm sure most other remote desktop connection software would work as well. Our programs have relatively static output, so it should not be particularly challenging like trying to play 3d games or videos using a remote connection.

Tried Teamviewer on both iPhone & iPad. Works like a charm, however, there are some limitations.
Pros:
Requires much less bandwidth which is good if you have a limited wireless plan.
Cons:
Navigation is tedious at best.
If the remote PC freezes you're out of luck. This is why I gave up on TeamViewer.

Just bought
ASUS VivoTab Smart 10.1" 64GB Windows 8 Tablet With Intel Atom Processor with 2GB RAM
Installed & executed SF5. No problemo. Did not try it during the trading hours yet. However, navigation is a little bit tedious, especially with my chubby fingers. Have to figure out many things but so far all my filters, scans, .... everything works. Cannot say anything about performance yet.
