Hello,

I am test driving your new stockfinder for the first time.

I trade options using income strategies and I’d like to find low volatility stocks that are channeling sideways.  I noticed there is a topic on this in the forums but it relates to tc2000.  Please help me construct this filter for use in Stockfinder.

This is the topic in the forums that included a video as well as formulas.

“Scan for stocks bouncing in a lateral channel”

I’m hopeful you can give me a jump start on this so I can move on to evaluating your service.

Thanks,
Rick Berkowitz

You should be able to Open the attached Layout directly into a running copy of StockFinder. It is my interpretation of Scan for stocks bouncing in a lateral channel as translated from TeleChart to StockFinder. The concept behind the technique is not mine. You will want to review the video to understand what the attached Layout is doing.

You might also want to review the Bouncing Stocks video as it is specifically designed for StockFinder instead of being an adaptation of a technique originally developed for TeleChart.

I am interested in creating a scan for stocks bouncing in a lateral channel but I'm finding trouble recreating the scan from the video link.  I believe that I copied the codes correctly, but when I try to save the scan it tells me that the formula does not return a boolean result.  Am I doing something wrong?

It sounds like you tried to create a percent true indicator. (they only work on true-false conditions)

You want to create a custom indicator PCF.

Thanks
