Is the "Cup and Handle" pattern recognition built in on StockFinder?

If it does, how do I get to it?

If not, do Telechart has it?

Thanks iin advance.

It is not but I will take a shot at a StockFinder RealCode cup and handle Rule in the morning.

In the meantime, you may find this interesting:

I just shared a LAYOUT called "Cup with Handle".

To get it, click the Share button (envelope with an @ peeking out of it) then click Browse other Users'.

Click the Layout tab and it should be there.  If you search for Cup with Handle you can filter the list.

There are four settings that can be changed when you click on the Rule and edit it:

PatternLength (how many bars should the pattern form in)
MinCupPercent (what is the minimum percent change from the cup bottom to the right edge)
MaxCupPercent (what is the maximum percent change from the cup bottom to the right edge)
CupEdgePercent (how close, as a percentage, should the left and right edges of the cup be)

Let me know what you think!

Thank you very much Craig.

I am using and tweaking chart patterns like the cup and handle, and others, for practicing purposes. Stockfinder has given me a lot of great results, specially with the BackScanner.

I will take a look at the information you have provided me.

Once again, thanks.

Craig,

Just to clarify  things

PatternLength (how many bars should the pattern form in)

Can we say the pattern has to be a minimum of certain length so any stocks that has a C&H that has formed over that length would screen through?

MinCupPercent (what is the minimum percent change from the cup bottom to the right edge)
MaxCupPercent (what is the maximum percent change from the cup bottom to the right edge)

Just to clarigy this for myself does this mean that the stock has gained > 20% Min and < 35% Max from the bottom the cup to the highest price reached on the right side of the cup?

CupEdgePercent (how close, as a percentage, should the left and right edges of the cup be)

Can we add in that the right side should be less than the left side but within this %? It seems to me that there are stocks that are scanning that the right side is higher than the left side.

Thanks
