Hi,

I'm looking to be able to scan for stocks that are:

1. Last 5 day closing price is just kissing the 10 week moving average, on an uptrend
2. Volume over the last 5 days has changed within a range of 1% to 3%

Thanks.

Couple of questions:

"1. Last 5 day closing price is just kissing the 10 week moving average, on an uptrend"

Is price kissing the average from the top or bottom? Price coming up the kiss the bottom of the average or coming down to kiss the top?

"2. Volume over the last 5 days has changed within a range of 1% to 3%"

Are you looking for volume being roughly equal each day for the last 5 days?

Hi,

Thanks for your response.

1. I prefer from the top

2. Yes, that is correct.

Thanks!

How do you determine if price has "kissed" the average?

Does the low fall below it?

Does the low get near it? If so, how do we determine if the low is near enough?

Hi,

The price 'may' fall from the top and fluctuate (within a very small percentage range) and then bounce up.

The low can be determined by a price fluctuating around the same area (within a small percentage)..

I hope I'm making sense....

Thanks.

So to "kiss" the low needs to be within a certain percentage of the average? If so, what is the largest percentage allowed to be still considered a kiss? 5% of the average? 10%? 2%?

Does it need to "kiss" it all five days or one of the last five?

Hi,

I would be looking to have the price come from the top, with the price average for the 5 days be equal to the 10 week moving average. The variance can be about + or - .5% in either direction.

Ideally, it would have to "kiss" on all 5 days, and the volume over those 5 days has a variance of + or - 3% let's say...

Thanks.

Did you mean 1/2 a percent (0.5%) or 5 percent (5%)? I took it as half a percent as given above.

You also mention a 10-week moving average. Are you looking at a 50-bar average on a daily chart OR a 10-bar average on a weekly chart? I assumed below you were looking at a 50-bar average on a daily chart.

Try this for me:

L5>AVGC50.5 AND
L4>AVGC50.4*0.995 AND
L4<AVGC50.4*1.005 AND
L3>AVGC50.3*0.995 AND
L3<AVGC50.3*1.005 AND
L2>AVGC50.2*0.995 AND
L2<AVGC50.2*1.005 AND
L1>AVGC50.1*0.995 AND
L1<AVGC50.1*1.005 AND
L>AVGC50*0.995 AND
L<AVGC50*1.005
AND
V>AVGV5*0.97 AND
V<AVGV5*1.03 AND
V1>AVGV5*0.97 AND
V1<AVGV5*1.03 AND
V2>AVGV5*0.97 AND
V2<AVGV5*1.03 AND
V3>AVGV5*0.97 AND
V3<AVGV5*1.03 AND
V4>AVGV5*0.97 AND
V4<AVGV5*1.03

BTW, I just tested the PCF on ALL STOCKS and only found 54. As I expected, none of them are stocks that are currently trading (all flatliners).

I think you will need to get less restrictive (especially in your volume requirement) to capture stocks that are actually trading.
