QUOTE (bubbawhite)

Hi Bruce,

I was looking at how you were using the date after the close like

C'11/16/12'

Can you use dates anywhere else like that or does it only work with C

I would like to use it with AVGC200  instead of having to count back the number of days.

Never mind I found the Days ago Parameter page...thanks

Thanks, Bruce.

One more question.  Each column manually refreshes.  So if I do not click on the column and click refresh does that mean the columns will stay the same all day as long as I do not close and reload TC.

I know I can change them to 30 or 60 minutes.  Seems a hassle for every watchlist with different columns in different WL.  Maybe TC is defaults to Manual to use less CPU???

I guess I am asking how does it work.  Is the any time when they are automatically refreshed like EOD without me doing anything?

Thanks again, Bruce

Hi Bruce

I am confused.  I have used the 'Recent Performane' column set and there is %Chg1Wk, %Chg1Mth, %Chg3Mth, %Chg6Mth, %Chg1Yr.

I have been experimenting and these do not seem to follow the time frame discribed above.  The formula is not messuring the time period close  to the current price.  As you described in your email to John VanKirk,

Pre-Built Formulas= YTD % Chge

What formulae are being used?   Can you help me with this?  Thanks Bruce

Thanks, Bruce.

Thats what I thought about the OBV1.23 and OBV.23 but shouldn't a 1 period moving average return the same and not different numbers.  It would return the same for a 200 MA on Price, why not OBV?

Again is it more data is being used to compute OBV1.23 then OBV.23?

Topic: OBV and OBV MA back scan

Hi Bruce,

I am trying to create a OBV backscan that would show me a week over week improvement in the OBV.  I created this scan for Apr 3, 2011.  The problem I am having is the scan is giving me different numbers then what I see on diplayed on the chart.  The scan I am using is

OBV.23 > OBV5.23

OBV 23 days ago > OBV 5 day MA 23 days back

If I use the test symbol ANIK the numbers I get are

164200 > 81160   True

What is the difference between OBV1.23 and OBV.23

The numbers on the chart for 4/3/12 are 2.5 mil for OBV.23 and 2,386,160 for OBV5.23

I understand that OBV is cumulative but why does TC v12 return different  numbers.

Buy the way, I am happy with the scan and the later performance of the stocks it returns but I not sure I should trust it.

Thanks for your help,

Glen

Topic: Variables in PCFs

Hi Bruce, is it possible to use a variable in PCF backscans?

For instance a variable that would replace the day count in a back scan.

x=124

Cx

For the Closing price 124 days ago.

I already know the answer.  I am just hoping there is some way to do it.

Thanks,

Glen
