Topic: TC-2000 on Mac G5 OSX ok? how about with virtual PC?
Posted: Friday, October 7, 2005 10:12:16 PM
I run TC2005 in Virtual PC 7 on my 1.5 GHz PowerBook OS 10.4. It runs a little slower than on my Dad's PC laptop, but that is due to the limitations of VPC. It will only emulate as a Pentium 2 500MHz. It takes no more than 15 minutes to totally download and run any calculations that need to be done...as opposed to 5 min on the Dell. Not a big deal, though.

It sure would be nice if an OSX version were to be developed, esp. now that the Mactels are coming out next year. With the Developer Tools supplied by Apple, recompiling for the Mactel shouldn't be any hassle.

Another option, though more time consuming would be to develop a version of TC2005 in Java. That way it would be totally cross platform compatible (Win, Mac, Linux), as long as the target computer is running the latest Java Runtime Environment (JRE).

Hopeful suggestions...I know...
