>I would suggest a forum under the category Market Discussion
>called "Mutual Fund Investing". Your thoughts?

In the Worden discussion groups I find that people often
ignore this subtle distinction that you are trying to make.
When people come to your site they usually want to discuss
your products. For example in the "Market Talk" group
there are plenty of topics about your TC2000 products.

I think that your first mission should be to provide
effective forums for discussing your products.

PS: Please add a page to your site that offers the Mutual
Fund program for sale! That should be your first priority.

>A "how to" question fits into the TeleChart forum since the
>mechanics of the program are essentially the same as TC2000
>and TCNet.

I think this should be determined by an analysis of the
questions and not thinking about how it ought to be.

This kind of support is better provided with a FAQ than
with a discussion group. If the questons and answers
apply to all programs, then fine, put them in one FAQ.

>Before we combined them into the TeleChart forum, the TCNet
>and Mutual Funds forums only had a few posts each.

I don't think this is a good reason for cutting off the
discussions entirely. You should try to use the discussion
groups to stimulate interest in the products. This can't
happen if they don't exist.

>The thinking here, BobD, is that all three products,

Discussion groups need to be organized to serve people,
not programs. Lumping the groups together makes it difficult
for Mutual Fund users to communicate with other Mutual Fund
users. The general operation of all of the programs is
seldom a topic of discussion. Discussions are almost always
about details.

Mutual Fund user topics are of no interest to TCNet users.

This was a good idea, creating a discussion group for
the mutual funds program.

Subsequently someone reversed your decision and threw the
mutual fund topics in with topics for two other products.
This was a bad idea!

Sorry for the negative feedback, but put yourself in the
shoes of a user of the mutual fund program. With all topics
thrown together like that I have to wade through 85
irrevelant topics and scratch your head for each one
trying to determine which product it applies to.

The topic titles don't typically identify which product
the post applies to so it is a guessing game.

It makes your discussion groups useless for mutual fund
program users. Please put it back the way it was.

I use the TC2000 Mutual Funds cd. This is the best mutual funds data service
I can find and a good deal for the money. The problem is that it has
disappeared! Worden doesn't mention it on this web page and seems to make no
effort to promote it. Nothing can succeed if you don't try.

How many others out there are using this?

How about creating another group for discussing mutual funds since the stock
program group where this is being posted is really not appropriate.
