Topic: Ten Day Open Arms Index
Posted: Wednesday, August 28, 2013 11:53:01 AM

Peter Eliades first created this and it seems to be applicable during this recent decline.  The "10-day Open Arms Index"  is calculated by doing a 10 day sum of each of the Number of Advanced, Number of Declines, Advancing Volume, and Declining Volume.  Then you create the Arms Index according to its formula and voila, you have it.

If not could I ask a trainer go give me a hand or a kick start on doing this in Stock Finder.

I am using $NYEA and $NYED for the advancing and declining issues and NUVOL and NDVOL for the Declining.

I suspect I need to do it in Real Code.  It doesn't look hard, I just am not sure how to do the 10 day sum of each easily or in a cleaver way.  Any suggestions would be sincerely appreciated.

Has someone already done this.  I would like to avoid going through the process if it is available.

Topic: Real Code Rule
Posted: Tuesday, May 10, 2011 6:30:49 PM
In StockFinder, I have written two rules in real code that identify stocks that meet the conditions of each rule and therefore "PASS".  I would like to know how many stocks pass each rule.  Is there a counter that will indicate how many issues pass each rule an any given time?  I would like to create an indicator that performs a math function on a ratio of the two counts.  I would also like to monitor that ratio during the day and create an indicator that uses either the two numbers or the ratio.

I have written two rules that determine a number of stocks that pass the requirements.  I would like to know how many pass each rule because I want to perform a math function on a ratio of the two numbers.  Is there a counter that will display how many pass the rule 1 requirements and a counter for rule 2?  That would allow me to monitor that condition during the day and to create an indicator using the two conditions.

Tested it.  It works great but the amazing thing is that I see what you did and how you did it and I know I would not have accomplished this in a month of trying.

Thanks very much.  In two projects you are batting a 1000 getting the result in minimum time and you have saved me numerous hours.

Thank you.  This is a great help.  I am very anxious to try it.

Looking at an earlier posting, I may be trying to build a cash flow accumulation in Stockfinder.  What I am trying to do is to multiply a symbol's closing price by the days volume in the symbol.  If the stock is up, I want to add the product to the previous day.  If it is down (or negative) I want to subtract the product from the accumulation which will potentially provide an oscillator of the accumulated cash flow into and out of a symbol.    In addition I would like to have the ability to change the length of the summation potentially  to experiment with the output to determine an adequate accumulation without making it too long.  This is not as important as getting the oscillator working.  I can potentially add a means to change the parameter which varies the length of the array.

Many thanks.
