I want to setup "Polarized Fractal Efficiency" as an indicator on the chart screen. Here's the MetaStock language formula for the five period smoothed 10-day (what I want).
Mov(If(C,>,Ref(C,-9),Sqr(Pwr(Roc(C,9,$),2) + Pwr(10,2)) / Sum(Sqr(Pwr(Roc(C,1,$),2)+1),9),- Sqr(Pwr(Roc(C,9,$),2) + Pwr(10,2)) / Sum(Sqr(Pwr(Roc(C,1,$),2)+1),9))*100,5,E)
Didn't see it come up in past discussion.
Appreciate the help,

I want a pcf to find stocks with bollinger band(20, 2std) spreads over .35 in the past 20 days, and the lower bollinger band( 20, 2std) above the 50day moving average.
Thanks to Bruce L, I understand the formula for BB, But can I build a simple equation for past BB conditions?
((BB.20(UPPER) - BB.20(LOWER))/BB.20(UPPER))>.35 OR ((BB.19(UPPER) - BB.19(LOWER))/BB.19(UPPER))>.35 OR ((BB.18(UPPER) - BB.18(LOWER))/BB.18(UPPER))>.35 OR ... ((BB.1(UPPER) - BB.1(LOWER))/BB.1(UPPER))>.35 AND BB(UPPER)> AVGC50
Am I on the right track, or is there a simpler way. No need to write out the bollinger band equation.

Bruce,
I see my mistake, the formula was not updated.
The formula works great.
thanks again,

Thanks for your help Bruce.
I installed the 1st formula into PCF, and see that the lower bollinger band, 20d avg, 2 std dev doesn't always meet the criteria of being w/in 95% of the 50day moving avg on the charts. I see the the std dev is subtracted from the 20day moving avg in your formula, so I am puzzled as to why it's not working.
I changed the criteria to > 50DMA, to be sure, still is not meeting criteria?
Thanks again in advance Bruce

I want to build a filter that will find stocks/markets meeting the following criteria:
1. lower bollinger band (20 bar, 2 std dev) > 95% of 50 Day Simple moving avg.
2. lower bollinger band (20 bar, 2 std dev, I would like to know the 5 day avg slope. I would like to find stocks who's slopes have gone from pos to neg
I would like to know the slopes of both the 200 and 50 day simple moving avg. I would setup a condition base on these slopes.
the most important criteria is the 1st.
Thanks for your help,
