Hello! It has been a while since I used TCnet, and I have some questions I hope you can answer for me. I have set up a new efficient system that may benefit from the real time capabilities of TCnet to use as a tool for my daytrading activities.
So I am wondering:
If a have list of say 300 stocks, would the list automatically sort itself in real time by say Price per cent change, or price value change?
Could I do the same with lets say all stock?
Could I do the same with industry sectors? Could I find out with sectors are on the top of the list by percent change - even if the info is delayed 20 min?
One more thing does your alert system send alerts to cell phone, and will if work while the program is not running?
Thank you much!

At the Platinum Service Level (formerly called TCNet), you can sort in Realtime using the following three sorts:

1. Volume - RT
2. Price Per Share - RT
3. Price Percent Change - RT

Just click on the sort menu, and then click the Realtime button to reveal these three sort criteria. As long as one of these sorts is active, the list will re-sort itself every 60 seconds with no further input from you. This can be done on any watchlist, including All Stocks and Media General Industry Averages.

Custom Indicators can also be plotted, as you know, and when you sort by these indicators at the Platinum Service Level, you can sort on an intraday chart. The indicator sorts, when done in realtime will be limited to the top 200 tickers in your active watchlist. You are able to set a refresh frequency so that the list will re-sort automatically, as frequently as you specify.

The Alerts system will send an alert to any device that has text capabilities, which includes many cell phones. Once they are set up through your TeleChart, the alerts will be sent regardless of whether or not your TeleChart is running on your computer.

Thanks Dough. One more thing, so by using the real time sort criteria there are no limitations on how many stocks or else are in the watch list? And also I just want to clarify, you said the list will resort every minute. Was this an expression or did you really mean every minute? Is there a way to make sort without delay if the list is smaller?
thanks

He meant every minute and there is no way to reduce this refresh time.

The built in RT sorts that he referred to are not limited by the number of tickers in the WatchList. Visually sorting indicators in RT is limited to 200 tickers.

One more thing i forgot.
Does TC platinum include before and after market data?
Will the built in sorts work on the before and after market data?
thanks

Platinum only includes market hour activity.

As a TC platinum member, I feel it helpful to point out my experience concerning the above-mentioned three Realtime sorts available at the platinum level. My experience has shown that the Price Percent Change - RT is a valuable + frequently used sort. And I have no doubt that, like myself, very many other TC platinum users make good use of this Price Percent Change - RT sort feature in their market analysis.

On the other hand, the Volume - RT sort feature is of limited value per se. And rarely used. It is not very revealing. Nor do you get a very clear insight into realtime market action just from a readout of the absolute volume numbers. What TC should do for platinum members is to show real-time how volume is changing over time. Just like what is done in the Price Percent Change - RT sort feature. And since the raw realtime volume data is already there + available. It should be a relatively easy TC program expansion to create this additional sort feature. One that will make Volume Percent Change - RT available at the platinum level. And one guaranteed to be equally valuable + frequently used in combination with the already available Price Percent Change - RT sort feature.

Merci beaucoup

You can plot this as a Custom Indicator:

(V-V1)/V1*100

And sort by it in RT on a daily chart. Check out this video:

Real time indicator sorting (available at the Platinum level)

Craig,
Yes.But that Custom Indicator is still a somewhat limited solution. Since it is limited to a real-time sort of no more than a maximum of 200 ticker symbols. Whereas the proposed Volume Percent Change - RT
sort feature would not suffer any such limitation. And could even easily sort through an "All Stocks" Watchlist.
Merci beaucoup

Agreed and understood. I hoped to offer something in the meantime.
