Happy Monday Bruce,
Do you know anything about the new Microsoft Surface Go released last week?
Will v18 run in this thing? It looks like a great little tool to use at the office so I don't use my company laptop or network to check in on the market and my trades. (Not sure my boss - and his boss - would appreciate that. :)
Still reading the features & specs ... my first question is wtf is "S mode"? And will it keep me from running TC2000 v18 on this device?
I'm only about 25 miles from a Microsoft Store. I can always swing by there before plunking down my cash on this thing. If the Go won't cut it and I need a Surface Pro instead, I can pass ...
I already have a spare 14" personal laptop I can leave at the office and use that as a kind of dedicated TC2000 box. That way I don't have to lug my 17" laptop around to work and back home.

TC2000 will not run on Windows in S mode.

Thanks, StockGuy!
So, "S mode" apparently stands for Sh#t Mode. lol.

The Surface Go can switch to a full version of Windows (and I think this is free one time one way switch). That said, I really would price it out with all of the accessories you will actually need. You might not be saving all that much compared to a Surface Pro when you start to consider what is included in each package and how much less powerful the Surface Go is than the Surface Pro.

Thanks, Bruce. Thought I saw something in the docs yesterday about switching to "normal" Windows.
That said, I need to remind myself of the difference between "need" and "want". :)
Besides, I already have a refurbished 14" laptop arriving Wednesday that I got cheeeeeep, for the sole purpose of sitting in a corner of my office and running TC2000. For now, I have a trade plan (on paper) that uses contingency orders. And for now, I can send alerts to my old Fitbit (the Fitbit alerts work - I've tested those before).
After I make a few profitable trades, I can always upgrade the Fitbit to an Apple Watch, and the laptop to a Surface Pro, if I want.
Or, ... I can reinvest the cash, or (depending on the barista) put it in her tip jar.

I have a 3 year old Toshiba Encore 2 Write tablet with windows 8 and I run version 18 with no problems. Its not the fastest but it handles scans and order entries easily enough. I have a stylus and consider it a must. Everything is a little too small to manipulate without it.
