I am trying to show Shorts as % of Float as a column in one of my scans. It is a great tool for finding potential short squeeze situations. It is not in the fundamentals list, but Latest Short (Interest Ratio is. The Float and ADV are also available.

This is the formula

(Latest Short interest ratio X ADV) divided by the Float = Shorts as % Float

How do i get this into my scan as a column?  Or can i? Any suggestions would be appreciated

Morningstar does not indicate the period of the Moving Average of Volume used to calculate the Short Interest Ratio (and I have not been able to get this information). So you can multiply the Latest Short Interest Ratio by a Moving Average of Volume, but it will not necessarily be the same period as is being used by Morningstar.

The easiest way to do this would probably not involve using RealCode at all. You can add all three indicators to the chart in StockFinder Platinum. Then you can just drag and drop the indicators onto each other and select Plot Comparison (choosing either Ratio or Multiply depending on what you want to do) to do the math you want.

Comparison Plots

Once you have the final indicator created, you should be able to delete all of the indicators used in its creation to leave only your desired indicator. You can edit the indicator to change the name.
