I have both RSI set at 14 and Wilder's RSI 14. Using TEVA as the symbol I get the following:

RSI 14 = 29.45

Wilder's RSI 14=29.13

Using readings from several web sites I get for TEVA:

14 Day RSI @ 80% = 48.58

14 Day RSI @ 70%=  43.62

the implication of the above two being that RSI 100% = 62.35 or thereabouts.

First of all what is the difference between TC2000's two RSI indicators and secondly why are the results so much different than the two just above?

Which "several web sites" specifically did you check? I checked both stockcharts.com and finance.yahoo.com and they both have a Daily 14-Period RSI for TEVA between 29 and 30 (absolutely nowhere near 62.35).

From the RSI section of TC2000 Help:

 

RSI is calculated using the following formula:

RSI = 100 - (100 / (1+RS))

RS = n period average of up closes / n period average of down closes

 

How are RSI and Wilder's RSI different?

In RSI, RS uses a simple average of the up and down closes. In Wilder's RSI, RS uses Wilder's smoothing which is a different form of exponential averaging.

Wilder's smoothing = Previous MA value + (1/n periods * (Close - Previous MA))

I'VE READ WORDEN'S EXPLANATION OF WILDER'S RSI BUT I STILL DON'T UNDERSTAND WHAT THE NUMBER "100" STANDS FOR AND WHAT DOES "N PERIOD AVERAGE" MEAN.   COULD YOU PLEASE HELP ME TO UNDERSTAND?  THANK YOU, DAVE GAMBONE

The way RSI is explained by us is pretty much the way Wilder explained it originally. This includes the use of the same formulas.

I can't give indicator setting or interpretation advice, but I can provide a different way to think about what RSI represents. RSI can be thought of as the ratio of the average of the positive net changes to the average of the absolute net changes expressed as a percentage.

When averaging the positive net changes, any net changes which are not positive are counted as zero when constructing the moving average.

So one way to calculate a non-Wilder's Smoothed 14-Period RSI would be:

Doing the same for a Wilder's Smoothed 14-Period RSI would involve manually creating a 14-Period Wilder's Smoothing of both the numerator and denominator (a 27-Period Exponential Moving Average) instead of 14-Period Simple Moving Average. We can simplify the numerator a bit however.
