Real estate and mortgage insurance has been falling like a knife, and there's bound to be some complete losers that go to 0. Problem is that it's already pretty priced in since I last mumbled about them a month ago -- MTG, RDN, CFC. IV is extremely high, making options fairly unattractive at this point in time.
Then there's financial companies, bagholders of subprime mortgage losses -- C, MER, BSC, and what not. But they're... big enough so that they'll hit some terminal value and recover.
Lastly, there's currency -- if the interest rate gets tweaked lower the USD weakens and loses value, if the interest rate stays same or gets hiked then the market's gonna be unhappy and fall on its face, so somehow shorting the US market while being in a stronger currency would do wonders.

I missed out on WCG.
and I missed out on the one-day surge on CHNR and STV. I will be waiting for the next surge on these two stocks. may be tomorrow?
I am kicking myself for not trusting my instincts.

If you are looking for a short term short, there are a few Solar stocks that have gotten a bit ahead of themselves but you might want to buy some calls to offsett the risk.
STP has had a real large runup. Earnings should be soon.
Look for a TSV divergence before shorting here, otherwise you could get squeezed.
