I am a newbie----
i will try to use the keyboard to draw what i am trying to ask , "I" is a daily price bar hook 1 would be defined as h2<h1 and h1> h2 and h < h1 and L2< L1 and L1> L2 & L..... Now that defines hook 1 which is the same as hook 1,3,5 and hook 2 & 4 are the same.......but now I want to have all 5 conditions to occur as drawn I I I ( Hook #1) THREE WEEKS AGO I I I ( hook 3)TWO WEEKS AGO I I I (hook 5) TODAY
I I I (hook 4) 1.5 WEEKS AGO I I I (hook 2) 2. 5 WEEKS AGO Hook 1 > hook 2, 3, 4,5 Hook 2 < hook 1,3,4,5 Hook 3 < hook 1 but > hook 2,4,5 Hook 4 > hook 2 but < hook 1,3,5 Hook 5 > hook 2, 4 but < hook 1, 3 and once this happens i look for a entry..so CAN THIS SCAN BE WRITTEN OR IT DOES NOT HAVE THE CAPABILITY TO DEFINE CONDITIONS THAT OCCURED AT RANDOM TIMES IN THE PAST( I put some general times on my description? THANKYOU VERY MUCH PS this scan is describing a ascending triangle concept...if you need a better descriptioin I can attach a link ot explain it better

It is possible to write Personal Criteria Formulas and EasyScans to check for conditions that occurred at random times in the past. Two recent examples from the forums are in the following topics:
macd When did XbarC sma cross YbarC sma
That said, I have not yet come upon a practical method for writing your particular request (but am still working on it).

Bruce,
Thankyou for the response..........I asked this in 2005 and TC 2000 could not do it, so 2 years later I thought TC might be able to do it now........
look at stock symbol MER for what I am looking for.. hook 1 3/2/04 hook 2 8/2/04 hook 3 3/2/05 hook 4 6/21/05 hook 5 7/21/05
if TC can't , just let me know..thanks so much!

I understand the pattern you wish to find. The short answer to if TeleChart can do this is "no". The slightly longer answer is "maybe". As indicated in my first response, I'm still working on it.

I will respond here if I come up with something. The best thing to do would be to "Watch this topic". There is a link in the upper right hand corner. You may wish to review the following:
