Arc, welcome. The answer to your question (and forgive me, I'm truly not being smart with you) is hard work, perseverance and diligence. In my opinion, there are no screening tools to find stocks like LMRA, at least not until it's done what it's already done. The above mentioned tools come in after the big break out; "When do I get in?" "Do I get in at all?" "Why did it do what it did?" "Who was buying?" Someone out there may have some highly specialized technique to find the LMRA's of the world before they make their move; but, for most of us, your real profitability will come with continued learning, strong money management, understanding the fundamentals of trading (and in this case, I don't mean fundamentals vs. technical; rather, the rudimentary basics of whatever strategy you choose to follow) and regular doses of humility and reality. Mix all those together, analyze your personal strengths and weaknesses (face the truth about yourself) and develop a style that suits you. Then and only then will you be trading / investing successfully. Anything less than that, any searching for shortcuts; and your trading account will get ground into powder. I know; I tried...no matter how caring individuals warned me. Sorry if this sounds harsh; it wasn't meant to be. But please do yourself a huge favor and DON'T follow my first several years in the market. Learn, learn, learn and then when you think you understand, learn some more. The market is merciless and couldn't care less about your success or failure. It just does whatever it's going to do. My apologies for the long dissertation. I'm sure it's not what you were seeking; but I care enough to take the time to say, your question concerns me; it's the kind of question I used to ask...before my account got ground into powder. I'm enjoying a modicum of success now, just wish I had listened more the first time 'round. The very best of luck to you; God bless.

Good luck on this one.
No customers no income and very little money. Remember GTE which is now GTEM.PK? They had some great announcements.
LMRA. I would rather go to Las Vegas where you can at least have a lot of fun gambling with all the side attractions.

Arc, I am not going to tell you what tools I use althought I may point to you what is available out there, and some things you can do. The thing with tools is that you know how to read them, otherwise they are as good as not having them. Now, you wouldn't have needed anything to spot LMRA a few days back when it broke out. Any basic scanner in premarket or during regular hours would had pointed you to LMRA. A stock rising over 400% in a single day is hard to miss, you have to be drunk or stupid, may be ignorant not to see such a thing. My picks, level of risk, and style may not fit everybody's agenda in this board. Those who know me, and I have been around this board for a long time - know about it. I am a daytrader, i am sure you know what that is. My trades for the most part come and go in blocks on the average of 10,000 shrs. I always have said that you get pay to take risk, so I make that my business. I careless for the most part about fundamentals, or company name. I look at symbols and charts. Mostly intraday. I play the spread one day, the next the news, and the next whatever I think will bring me an edge. There is no fixed system or strategy, everyday is different. Those who want to fix the system will fail. The secret is change. You make your own market. When I get a chance I will comeback and tell you some of the things available to you out there in a general way. Those tools will not be cheap, but they will give you the edge. I have said many times that is you come to a sophisticated battle field with daggers and arrows you are going to get hurt. TC2005 is a great tool and has a place in the arsenal, but if you think you can make it with just that you may have to sharpen you arrows, and daggers a little more. With some luck you will walk away with your life minus an arm and a leg or two.

Dear Sir Bollinger - Vegas is a great place if you know how to count cards. Yet, you really have to know how to count. I have a few friends who have made fortunes in the poker business. May be the right place to enjoy and expand your earnings. good luck Bigblock.

Thanks to BigBlock and tobydad for the insight! I have to make a go of this and am very interested/willing to learn. You both did mention learning statagies and tools. That is the kinda of advise I am hoping for. I have gotton advise from many people who are not actively in the market so I thought the better and more obvious route would be to see whats being used from those who are in it Thanks arc
