Perhaps this is just repeating the basic question, and no one really knows the answer to it, but what about a highly speculative purchase of some FRE or FNM on the change it will be worth at least a few dollars a share in 2-5 years? I know everyone has been saying 'it's dead, Jim" but... can it be said with high probability now that FRE shares at $0.50 and less are here to stay? No, I'm not about to do it - but I don't know much about corp. finance so I have no idea.

ps perhaps it should be said that even if it's a play, it would probably be worth waiting to see if it goes
even lower, what with recent events with LEH etc and talk that the stock would become 'worthless.'

I guess in the end the question is, given the terms of the bailout, is it possible for the common stock to appreciate at all in the future? Or are the terms of the bailout too unspecified so far?

Sorry, a bit longwinded ;)

Thanks for news. Along the same lines, I wonder if anyone could comment on the following question (I"m new, and if this is not an appropriate question let me know): why is it that when the hint of bailout of FRE/FNM came out in July or so, their stocks spiked way up? But in the last few weeks talk of a bailout was accompanied by warnings that their common stock would get not help - and so it wasn't surprising that they have collapsed. Is it just a matter of new and better information replacing some original over-optimism that a 'rescue' might actually help their stock?
Topic: Misc Easy ?'s from new user: alerts, backtesting, deleting chart template, accessing fund. data...

Watchlists -  Hemscott Industry Groups does not contain ALL publicly traded companies, I think. How decided?

Can I create alerts?

Is there backtesting?

Can I delete a chart template I made up?

Can I access fundamental data – e.g. capitalization, earnings, etc. – on a given stock all at once (as opposed to seeing little bits of it at a time when it’s part of a watchlist or whatever)

Problem in your website? If I click on Worden Studio in Help/Index, I get a help page on “Trend Quality.”

Problem in Studio software? When I start Worden Studio, there is an error “Server Error in '/' Application.”
Other than that, though, Studio seems to work OK...

Thanks in advance for any help :) - Marc
