I tried meta stock a while back but never used it with telechart as a combo package. What are you trying to do?

Thanks JC:
I don't really, I heard some people use both and I was wondering how. For me one software is plenty. I just want to make sure I have one of the better one out there, so down the road I don't have to change.

Telechart can do a lot but it cant do as much as some of the more expensive platforms, for example backtesting of complex strategies. You could use blocks and pay a monthly fee to backtest, but I found it too complex and difficult so I only use telechart.

I tried Blocks and decided Tele chart is more than enough for me. I am trying to make as simple as possible. I have experienced when I get overwhelmed w/ informations I actually do poorly. One can also do backtesting w/ tele chart? no?Thanks

I believe so, have not used that too much, but my understanding is its a pay service at their website.

I've always used Metastock with the Telechart data feed. Feel it gives me more charting options plus you can purchase plugins. The two plugins I use most are a Walter Bressert trading system plus an Elliott Wave plugin.

Regarding the IBD100, I'll occasionally buy the Monday IBD and manually update a symbol list in Telechart via Microsoft Excel. This gives me the ability to track which stocks have been in the list for what period of time. I do the same for other groups such as the Value Line top 100 and 400. Haven't done this lately for IBD since I won't touch high momentum stocks in what is an overextended market in my opinion (on a drop they'll drop the quickest so currently I look more for value plays as opposed to momentum plays).

wise words brnxbomber

moakhavi: I thought I posted earlier but I guess It didn't get through. IMO you do have the better stock software.... Telechart continues to amaze me with the things it will do... and then add in Blocks for those who like it and I personaly don't see a need for anything else. I'm big on the worden indicators as well ... which you won't get anywhere else.

the ony other thing I might have considered is Tradestation... but they are a brokerage and chart service....which makes me a bit nervy... call me paranoid. More than that they have a back testing system that cam be used into an automatic mechanical trading system. I thought about it for a bit... But one, it's new software to learn and two, TSV and MS aren't available through them and finaly I'm not shure I want a comuter making all my trading decision for me. Invariably in any strategy I have played with there are occasions when the conditions are mathematicaly true...but the trade should obviously be skipped.

Amibroker is all costs upfront, about $250.00 and uses Telechart data feed. Beuatiful charts and fast-fast. Good companion to Telecharts.
