How would you define setups and could you give me a short example of some setup conditions?

I am not sure I understand what you mean. Can you elaborate?

I know what youmean.I always have friends discussing setup conditions to open a trade long or short.I'm just wanting to see how someone would describe the conditions necessary for them to institute a trade.

We trainers cannot really offer examples of how to open a trade. I will move this to the Stock Talk forum so other board members can offer examples.

A "setup" is simply a set of conditions which indicates a high probability of a profitable trade. There are thousands of them -- some good, many bad. I like to keep it simple and focus on price. An advance/decline into a resistance/support level would be a typical setup for me. Good luck.
