 I am wondering why my price line is different colours. Does this have anything to do with items on my template. If yes how can I define what the different colours sybolize?

 You Prob have BOP set to color the price line.

Check its settings.

There is a box where you can un-check to turn it off.

 You either have BOP plotted (edit the Balance of Power and uncheck the color price option)

You may also have price colored based on close to close. Edit your price line to check this.
