Does TC2007 contain the same API specification. I can find no information on web site.
If I don't upgrade from TC2005, how long can I use TC2005 ?
Thanks!

Yes, the dev kit is updated with each new version of TeleChart.

The answer to your second question depends on a) if you ever need to re-install TeleChart, b) if you ever change computers, or c) we release a required upgrade to TeleChart. Only the latest version of the software is available for re-installs or installations on a new machine.

Thank you very much for the response.
Just for clarification. I am using Telechart also as a data source with 3rd party application. This application uses api to get Telechart data.

My question. If I upgrade to TC2007 and if it happens that api is somewhere different from the old version, can I install back TC2005 in order to use it until the 3rd party application implements modification ? I have many Telechart CDs but I'm not sure if they contain installation files and if it' possible to re-install the old version.
Thank you.

I have found an old e-mail:

------------------------------------
*** IMPORTANT ***

Keep in mind that your existing TC2000 5.3 version will expire on March 29, 2005 - so you will need to get the new 2005 version at some point. If you don’t download the upgrade, we will mail you a CD automatically, with ample time to install before the 29th.
--------------------------------------

You are forcing to upgrade and with each new version you are breaking API so that all other programs must be at least recompiled. I think I have enough from these silly exercise.

That's not true. TC2000dev.dll is backwards compatible if the code that uses it complies with the instructions in the developer kit.

There is no way to install an older version of TeleChart.

There is nothing in TeleChart 2007 that should effect any 3rd party API.

Here is an experience from a user that caused my worries:

"I upgraded to Telechart 2007 and my external programs using TC interfaces stopped working. I immediately reversed back to Telechart 2005. Thankfully, I had the binary lying in the Recycle Bin. I think they still support TC2000 interfaces and they have renamed TC2005 interfaces to TC2007. That is my guess. I use TC2005 interfaces because of .NET applications. Their documentation in TC2007 is still old. "

Also the difficulty to get clear information, in this forum, and from the support, is not the best sign.
