i have used p+f charts since 1985 and i love them.  i originally used chartcraft charts and i graduated onward and upward from there.  metastock ver13 has a good p+f charting system, which i would recommend to everyone.  other than metastock, i think i would recommend maintaining the charts by hand, not difficult at all and in several different pricing amounts.  say, $1per box, $0.50per box and $0.25 per box.  they work great when trying to time the purchase or sale of a position.  with minor adjustments to the calculations, they can make great relative strength charts thereby aiding in the selection of which stock in which industry should be bought or sold. i would recommend a google search for "chartcraft, inc." to obtain more research material.
