Topic: question about closing options at breakeven or above strike price
Posted: Tuesday, September 26, 2017 2:11:23 PM

hi,

i'm paper trading options before going to my live acct.

i notice that when i close many option trades at a profit the equity figure is going down when

i think it should be going up.

for example, i've closed some puts that i've sold (buying back the option to close) that are above break even above the strike price, the software is showing profit on the strike price line, and the underlying stop is above the current strike price, and the dropdown box is showing profit.

i choose "market" to close the trade.

the "realized" column at the top shows green, but the tally figure for equity does not go up.

any thoughts?

thanks!

Topic: attaching a stop to a buy order
Posted: Saturday, August 26, 2017 9:15:08 AM

hello,

newbie here.

i notice in version 17 you can attach a stop order at fixed % intervals prior

to placing the buy order.

for example: 0%, .5%, 1%, etc

i understand .5% and up, but what is the effect of adding a stop at 0%?

if the stop is set at "0%" does this mean you will get stopped out immediately once the ordered

if filled, or you will get stopped out immediately if the price goes down a miniscule amount?

and, as a side question, is it possible to customize the fixed percentages to specific ticks?

thanks for your response.
