I have a 21MA setup on weekly volume. I'm trying to create a scan condition for weekly volume 1.5 times or greater then the average. Can Ido this with net change or % change

Thanks

In reading the forums I come up with the following

for Vol greater  than Vol MA21 by 50%

V>(AVGV21*1.5) OR (AVGV21.1*1.5) OR (AVGV21.2*1.5) OR (AVGV21.3*1.5) OR (AVGV21.4*1.5)

If this is correct I next like to switch AVG to front weighted,  would that be FWAVG?

Thanks

Each comparison needs to be made separately.

V >= AVGV21 * 1.5 OR V >= AVGV21.1 * 1.5 OR V >= AVGCV21.2 * 1.5 OR V >= AVGV21.3 * 1.5 OR V >= AVGV21.4 * 1.5

Although this could also be written as follows.

V >= 1.5 * MIN(AVGV21, 5)

Note that the two formulas above compare the current volume to the average volume from the most recent 5 bars. If you want to compare the volume at the time to the average volume instead, you could write this as follows.

CountTrue(V >= 1.5 * AVGV21, 5) > 0

You would need to change AVG to FAVG (not FWAVG) in order to use front weighted moving averages instead.

Moving Average
