HI Bruce..Its been a while since I looked for updates to the TTM squeeze debate.  I see there are lots of new posts/threads  with lots of new names for modifications of this indicator the likes of which are exceeding my brain bandwith. Can you possibly tell me

1) Did we ever get the proprietary indicator exactly from John Carter?

2) Which of these threads shoudld I look at for the latest version of the squeeze which most closely resembles or duplicates the proprietary indicator so that it will match up with what I have on my other charts.  No extra modification or bells needed..just the basic indicator ( lines, dots and histogram)

I could not say for sure but diceman seemed to think so in his Monday, February 10, 2014 10:41:09 AM ET post in the TTM squeeze revisited topic.

You would be replacing the Momentum Custom PCF Indicator in the instructions given in the Wednesday, October 30, 2013 9:38:18 AM ET or Monday, November 25, 2013 11:04:13 AM ET posts in the same topic.

We cant say because we dont know. (its not disclosed)

However the indicator I posted matches JC values and JC up/dwn movement.

(when he uses Tradestation)

I just looked at the link that Bruce suggested. but the last post there is for TTM momentum indicator. Can you direct me to the SQUEEZE indicator with histogram, color changes etc that you have found most closelly resembles the real thing..

The instructions for the rest of the indicator are given in the Wednesday, October 30, 2013 9:38:18 AM ET or Monday, November 25, 2013 11:04:13 AM ET posts in the same topic. You are just using the information in diceman's post for the Momentum indicator. Everything else is the same.

Ok thanks all..This appears to be the same one I have and it hasnt changed..

On looking at it though, I d like to make the histogram go from green to red whenever it starts to  decrease in value ,  conversely  go from red to green whenever it starts increasing again..

Id like to have this regarless of whether it is above the line or below the ZERO line.  Is that posted anywhere?

Not if you set the Plot Style to Histogram. You need to set this up the same way you would set up the other versions of Momentum. You just need to have the two different Custom PCF Indicators using different colors.

Im sure you are right about the scaling issue..I moved chart around and it changes the lines. WHere do I go to find this center on 0 adjustment.  Ii dont see it in edit study.

Click on the name of the indicator at the top of the pane where it is plotted and select Scaling.

Note that it is almost as important to have one of the indicators set to Scale With the other indicator as it is have the indicators set to Scale Method Center on 0.

If you have the indicators set to scale with each other with the indicator controlling the scale set to Center on 0,  the indicators will be int the same pane and scale.

If you just have both indicators set to  Center on 0, the indicators will line up in  the center, but the rest of the values won't line up.

Morning Bruce..this indicator is working like a charm and I thank you

Now for the next act.. I like to find stocks that have both the Daily chart and the 2 hour chart with the indicator showing GREEN ( increasing) and ABOVE THE zERO LINE.  So is there a way I can have this as a column to use in a scan or maybe a column for the daily and another column for the 2 hour chart that will show me when this condition is met.

Based on how you have put this indicator together, Im afraid I havent a clue how to do this.

Unfortunately the only way you can mix time frames is to create the formula twice and add both conditions to the same EasyScan as EasyScan Conditions. You can then set the time frame of each condition individually.

So you could not combine two time frames and use it as a WatchList Column (although you aren't going to be able to create the 2 hour time frame version without Platinum anyway).

Thanks  Not 100% clear .

I can use this formula, enter it twice in an easy scan, and set one condition to 2 hours and one to daily and it should work?  Is that right.?

For a watchlist column only, I can only get the correct values returned for the daily timeframe becuase I dont have platinum?

You aren't going to get 2 hour conditions to work at all without Platinum.

If you want to use two different time frames which are daily or longer, you could add the condition twice to your EasyScan and then set each of the conditions to a different time frame.

You can add use the Condition Formula as a daily WatchList Column, but you can't get a single WatchList Column reflecting both time frames being true even if the other time frame is longer than daily. You would need two different WatchList Columns.

I'm really not sure what you are asking. The TTM Squeeze indicator as assembled in the various topics describing how to implement it in TC2000 has a Momentum portion and a line of dots indicating if the squeeze is on or off.

What is breaking below the bottom of what?

Are you looking for the bottom Keltner Channel and Bollinger Band to be crossing in some fashion?

This would however check for the Momentum being red and below zero. If you are actually looking for the squeeze to be turning on or off (the Keltner and Bollinger crosses), then you probably want one of the formulas in the TTM Squeeze -- Conditional Statement modification Bruce topic.

Bruce - usng the 2 formulas posted here (Monday, December 08, 2014) and i followed the scale and Center line - 0 directions

I have these in one pane together - are these to be set to historgram not sure how to set up  colors on these

then  i used De 09 formula and dec 11 for reverse in separate panes as i do not actually know what they indicate and how to integrate with the other formulas from Dec 08

I know we are recreating TTM indicators and I should have some Dots plotting with the Histogram to indicate squeeze is ON - but i do not know which on does that

is the Dec 09 formula the exact opposite of the Dec 11 -  JUST want to be sure

The formulas are opposite in that the two > in the Dec 09 formulas became < in the Dec 11 formulas. This is what I would consider opposite.

If by opposite you mean the Dec 11 formulas return true when the Dec 09 formulas return false, then you would have to change the AND in the formula to an OR and change both instances of > to <= instead of changing them to <.

Yes, the formulas I made in my Wednesday, April 08, 2015 8:59:54 AM ET post in the Squeeze topic are more efficient than the formulas I made in my older Monday, December 08, 2014 2:11:15 PM ET post in this topic. I pointed this out in my Monday, April 13, 2015 10:42:47 AM ET post in this topic.

They do the same thing but are shorter. This is due to both optimizing diceman's momentum formula and optimizing the check for if the momentum is increasing or decreasing.

Unless I think of more optimizations which could be used to shorten the formulas later, then yes. For now, they are as efficient as I can make them with what has come to mind so far.

I cant get these to work together as i had the 20 period working together

Bruce i have one more that i thought would be dont thru an email to support - guess was out of their level.

And I guess the Above post is actually 8 - 4 from OFF to ON and 4 from On to OFF

 

I need this one as well From ON (True) to OFF (False) ONLY
