Bar close. I am not sure why the 60 mins bar and 120 mins bar close at 10 AM.

I should see the 1st bar of 60 mins (1 hour after open)) to close at 10:30 AM and the 1st bar of 120 mins chart to close at 11:30 AM (2 hours after open).

But for some reason both the 60 mins bar and 120 mins bar close at 10 AM right after 30 mins of open.

How can this bug be fixed?

Appreciate your help.

I can submit a suggestion on your behalf to allow for one hour, two hour and four hour time frames where the first bar of the trading day is a full bar. Thank you for your suggestion.

The one hour and two hour bars close at 10 AM because all of the intraday time frames are designed to have the last intraday bar of the day be a full bar. The first 4 hour bar of the day closes at noon (two and half hours into the trading day).

At least one bar of the trading day must be a partial bar if the time frame is not evenly divisible into the traditional 390 minute trading day. In TC2000, it is always going to be the first bar of the trading day that is a partial bar.

The prime factorization of 390 is 2, 3, 5 and 13. This means the theoretical full minute time frames which would be evenly divisible into a 390 minute trading day would be 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 10, 13, 15, 26, 30, 39, 65, 78, 130, 195 & 390 minutes long. I have underlined and bolded the time frames of this type which are actually included in TC2000.

Thank you Bruce. Appreciate the explanation.

Would be great to submit a request to add a property to fix this bug so the charts (60 mins and above) do match the industry format.

Thank you again for your help.

Bruce,

I just went and validated this with other leading platforms (Ninja trader, Tradestation, TradingView, Stock Charts, eSignal and Thinkorswim). In all of them have 1st bar of 60 mins timeframe and 120 mins timeframe as 60 mins and 120 mins and not 30 mins.

So in essense, this is a critical bug as the bars plotted show incorrect close and essentially people watching 60 and 120 mins chart could make incorrect decisions.

Would be great if you could escalate this issue to get this critical bug addressed as soon as possible.

Appreciate your followup on this.

Thank you for your help.

This isn't a bug.  Either the first bar of the day or the last bar of the day has to be shorted since there are 6.5 hours in the trading day.  TC2000 shortens the first bar of the day so the closing values fall at the top of the hour...10am, 11am...3pm, 4pm.
