In TC2000 version 12.4:

Can one sort for stocks trading +2 standard deviations above the 50 day average....20 days ago? Or are scans like this, only available to the current day?

I know this could be done in the old Telechart with PCF formulas. Is the old Telechart now called Stock finder?  Do you still have this? But for only a few more years?

thanks,

Ken K.

The newest version of TC2000 is TC2000 version 12.4 or the TC2000 version 12.4 beta. This is our flagship product and is being actively developed.

The old TeleChart is TC2000 version 7.

StockFinder is its own progam and is not a previous version of TC2000.

While TC2000 version 7 and StockFinder are not currently in active development, there are no plans to discontinue either program or technical support for either program. You can still obtain both products.

Access to both TC2000 version 12.4 and TC2000 version 7 are included as part of any active TC2000 service. TC2000 service also gives you access to TC2000 version 12.4 created WatchLists, EasyScans and charts on tablets and smart phones.

There is a product similar to TC2000 version 7 called TC2000 for Mutual Funds which only provides access to Mutual Funds and not stocks. You can get TC2000 for Mutual Funds either on its own or in addition to any of our other products. It has a separate subscription from TC2000 Gold or TC2000 Platinum.

StockFinder is currently only available with its own Platinum service.

You can create a condition for the closing price of 20-bars ago being more than two 50-period standard deviations above a 50-period moving average without creating a Condition Formula at all in TC2000 version 12.4.

Start by adding a 1-period exponential moving average to price with the Offset setting of the moving average set to 20. This will plot closing prices from 20-bars ago on the chart.

Adding and Moving Indicators (7:19)

Then add Bollinger Bands to the chart and choose to add them to the 1-period offset moving average instead of price when prompted. This will create the Bollinger Bands from 20-bars ago and plot them on the chart. You wall want to click on the Bollinger Bands and select Edit to change the Period to 50 and set the Std Dev setting to 2.00.

Then click on the moving average and select Create Scan Condition. You will want to select Above Chan Top from the Exp Moving Average 1 +20 vs Bollinger Bands 50 2 section of the Condition drop-down menu in the Create Scan Condition window.

Create Conditions from Your Chart (5:25)

A Condition Formula to do the same thing would be:

C > AVGC50.20 + 2 * SQR(ABS(C20 ^ 2 + C21 ^ 2 + C22 ^ 2 + C23 ^ 2 + C24 ^ 2 + C25 ^ 2 + C26 ^ 2 + C27 ^ 2 + C28 ^ 2 + C29 ^ 2 + C30 ^ 2 + C31 ^ 2 + C32 ^ 2 + C33 ^ 2 + C34 ^ 2 + C35 ^ 2 + C36 ^ 2 + C37 ^ 2 + C38 ^ 2 + C39 ^ 2 + C40 ^ 2 + C41 ^ 2 + C42 ^ 2 + C43 ^ 2 + C44 ^ 2 + C45 ^ 2 + C46 ^ 2 + C47 ^ 2 + C48 ^ 2 + C49 ^ 2 + C50 ^ 2 + C51 ^ 2 + C52 ^ 2 + C53 ^ 2 + C54 ^ 2 + C55 ^ 2 + C56 ^ 2 + C57 ^ 2 + C58 ^ 2 + C59 ^ 2 + C60 ^ 2 + C61 ^ 2 + C62 ^ 2 + C63 ^ 2 + C64 ^ 2 + C65 ^ 2 + C66 ^ 2 + C67 ^ 2 + C68 ^ 2 + C69 ^ 2 - 50 * AVGC50.20 ^ 2) / 50)
