Dear Trainer - I am an avid user of FSC.com... was a user of TC2000 at one time. I am a full time daytrader. I watched this Webex from this group called TheIntentionalTrader.com ... I was very impressed.... until they told me what platform they used... and data feed ... and costs.... etc.
I really like the SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) Freestockcharts.com.... but would pay for TC2000 if it provided a similar veiw that you'll see in this presentation (if you watch some of it.... you can speed through to catch the needed parts).
Momentum
Exhaustion (OBOS)
Volume Spread Analysis
Speed Tick (tape reading... in the old days)
Divergence
Confluence
Or watch the video at: http://youtu.be/lc7tZzzkfc8
Can you put together something similar?? If so, I could quickly become a paid subscriber of the TC-2000 service Real-time service!

We could probably create colored dots for Momentum/Exhaustion and VSA on the chart in TC2000. The VSA dots would be based on the Better Volume Climax Bar definitions in the following topics unless other information was available on the exact nature of the Climax Bars in the video.
better volume indicator
Detrend Price Oscillator.
Unless I'm misunderstanding, we can't to Speed Tick because there isn't a way for us to incorporate the necessary tick data. We probably can't do the Divergence in TC2000 either.
If we change to StockFinder, we can probably do the Divergence in addition to the Momentum/Exhuastion and VSA. In addition, we can be more flexible in the visualization used. Instead of just using colored dots, we could do things like paint the bars as well.

Bruce, thanks for viewing this Youtube video and adding your thoughts. I would like to call and discuss how this could be done so that I can use it on a regular bases. Back test it a bit and put it to good use!thx -j

Customer training is only offered in the forums, webinars or at our live training seminars. Customer training is not available by phone, chat or email.
The technique in TC2000 would involve adding Custom PCF % True Indicators to the chart. The formulas used would be somewhat complicated. For example, the Boolean Formula in the Momentum Custom PCF % True Indicator which checks for Wilder's RSI to be above 70 or below 30 would be:
(L - .01 * (H - L + 1)) * ABS(50 * (C - XAVGC27.1) / 14 / (.07143535 * (ABS(C - C1) + 13 / 14 * (ABS(C1 - C2) + 13 / 14 * (ABS(C2 - C3) + 13 / 14 * (ABS(C3 - C4) + 13 / 14 * (ABS(C4 - C5) + 13 / 14 * (ABS(C5 - More complicated tests of Climax bars might end up being too long and slow to be practical or post in the forums.
For this particular application, StockFinder is probably going to be better than TC2000. But the versatility means I would need to know more about exactly how you want to implement things before making suggestions (in the case of TC2000, we are pretty much limited to the one approach for plotting the marks on the chart).
Note that the video did not actually discuss the VSA calculations at all. I am using the Better Volume examples because they are based on VSA and include the concept of Climax Bars.

Bruce, I have used TC2000 and FSC but never used StockFinder. I'll look into this and see what this looks like.
I'm sure I am not the first to request something like this. Is there a Predefined setup that I can "shamelessly steal from"? Point me to a webex or online training that has something similar.... then maybe I can use what you've given me to add to what is already out there.
thx -j

I actually don't recall anybody asking for a similar layout, but the concept of creating conditions and then using them to plot symbols on the chart or paint price in StockFinder is relatively common.
Creating Conditions
Writing Conditions in RealCode
Paint Schemes
You may want to review other StockFinder Videos and Tutorials as well as checking out the User Guide, Workbook, RealCode Reference and RealCode API. Most of the early webinars are StockFinder specific as well.

Bruce, I have tried this formula in a Custom PCF % True indicator and the formula is coming up with a error on pressing the 'Test' button. What I would ideally like to do is to place a colored dot above the bar in the standard TC2000 Volume indicator, to identify the volume climax. Can you advise on how to do this ? Thanks !

What is the error message?
If the error is about something like, "Must be a boolean formula." then the issue is probably using the formula in a Custom PCF % True Indicator. The formula is designed for use in a Custom PCF Indicator and not a Custom PCF % True Indicator.
If the error is something about "Unmatched Parentheses." then it is probably because you are missing the < O) * (H + .05 * (H - L + 1))) near the end of the formula.
Another possibility is that you use the , instead of the . as the decimal marker on your computer. The most likely error message in this case would be "Argument Missing", but other errors can result. If this is the case, you would need to replace both instances of .05 near the end of the formula with ,05 instead.

The error was "Must be a boolean formula." Now using Custom PCF.Perfect - worked a treat. Many thanks Bruce. Not a bad indicator either !
