I am working on setting up the buy sell from the Worden Report dated 4/13/2007
When setting up the PCF's the first one tests perfect
The second one seen below tests syntax error
I can't find the error - can you help

Thanks

(Tab A +) AND ((AVGC20.2 < AVGC20.1) AND (AVGC20.1 < AVGC20)) AND (STOC30.4 > AVG(STOC30.4,5)) AND (TSV17 > AVG(TSV17,9))

You may wish to review the following:

Sir Geologists pcf on buy signal (Tab d)- From 4/13/07 Worden report
Customize the Information Displayed in the WatchList
Buy & Sell Signals - Friday 13 Warden Report
Tab 1 to 10

My reading of Sir Geologist's letter suggests the use of one Watchlist Column per Personal Criteria Formula in a single Watchlist Tab (instructions on how to customize your Watchlist Columns is in the second referenced topic in this post).

Tab B combines the formula from Tab A and adds to it. You can't just reference Tab A in the PCF. What I come up with is (the first topic referenced above has my interpretation of the formulas for all of the tabs):

(STOC8.3 > AVG(STOC8.3,3)) AND (STOC12.3 > AVG(STOC12.3,3)) AND (STOC12.3 < 65) AND (STOC4.3 > AVG(STOC4.3,3)) AND (STOC2.1 > AVG(STOC2.1,2)) AND ((AVGC20.2 < AVGC20.1) AND (AVGC20.1 < AVGC20)) AND (STOC30.4 > AVG(STOC30.4,5)) AND (TSV17 > AVG(TSV17,9))

I'm not sure I understand. It looks like you combined tab A&B formulas

Am I to add formulas from tabs CD&Eto the above formula you created?

Is the goal to get this to work with one column in the watchlist?

Yes, I did combine the A and B formulas that is what my interpretation of "(Tab A +) AND" means.

The goal is not to get a single WatchList Column, but to have multiple WatchList Columns. It is just that some of the Personal Criteria Formulas used to create WatchList Columns build on the results of prior PCFs used to build WatchList Columns in their construction. The first referenced topic contains the resulting formulas from these combinations for all of the WatchList Columns.

I really would suggest reviewing at least the first two referenced topics as they cover both the formulas needed and the technique used to use these formulas as WatchList Columns in considerable detail.

Hi Bruce: thanks for all the help on Sir Geoligist, it works great

When I am updating PCFs to use Sir Geoligist's formulas it says "criteria whitch requires more than 250 days of history (slower)"

Do I need to check the slower one?

In going through the Personal Criteria Formulas, I did not see any that would obviously need more than 250 days of history.

That said, if you select the Personal Criteria Formula icon (it looks like fx), it will bring up a list of PCFs along with an Updated Through column.

So what you can do is update your Personal Criteria Formulas manually by selecting Databank | Personal Criteria Formulas | Calculate For: All Items in System and then Update All Criteria with Include criteria which require more than 250 days of history (slower) unchecked.

You can then check your list of PCFs and any PCFs that didn't get updated (the Updated Through column didn't change) require more than 250 days of history.
