i'd like pcfs for 1)a ratio comparing the average candle-bodies for the recent past 5 days with the average candle-bodies 30 days excluding the recent 5 days..(.i only want to compare the bodies, not the tails.) 2)today's hi is Outside upper bollinger bands and the close is Inside upper bb and 3) today's low is Outside lower bb and the close in is Inside lower bb. two settings for Bollinger bands a) 20 period and 20 width and also b) 20 period and 25 width, pcf for each B Band setting 4)price rises greater than 15% in last 20 days, excluding recent 5 days 5)max price hi recent 5 days is below the max price hi in 20 days and the min price low in recent 5 days is greater then 70% of max price hi in 20 days ( falling flag consolidating in the upper 30% of the big move) 6) avgv5 < avgv20.5X75% 7) reverse for pcf #4 and #5 for bear flag after a big move down ( #4 and #5 are trying to locate bull/bear flag or pennant w/ lower volume after the big move) 8)Daily and weekly (Monday to Friday) and monthly (previous month,Aug 2,2010 to Aug 31,2010) pivots w/ Pivots, R1 R2 S1 S2 using standard hi+low+c/3 Thank you very much for your help and take your time jfisamm

Thank you Bruce so much for your helpRegarding weekly Pivot, let's assume we do the calculation on Friday close and the reading would be max hi, min low and close for the past 5 days ?As for monthly pivots, can we just find the max hi , min low and close between Aug 2, 2010 and Aug 31,2010?.I remember there is way finding Max hi or low between certain dates....just by entering the dates in the formula. Thanks againjfisamm

You are either misremembering or you misunderstood what you read. The date based forms of MAXH and MINL can substitute a date for the Bars Ago parameter but still require Period. This means you need to know both the exact end date of the Week or Month and the number of Trading Days in that Week or Month to be able to write a formula.

So let's take the current Week and the previous Week. A Personal Criteria Formula to match the High of the current Weekly Bar on the Charts would be:

MAXH5

While the Calendar Week version would be (this should currently match the Charts if you are updated through today as well, but won't match the Charts on Monday):

MAXH5.'09/17/2010'

A PCF to match the High of the previous Weekly Bar on the Charts would be:

MAXH5.5

While the Calender Week version would be (this would not match the Charts):

MAXH4.'09/10/2010'

A PCF for the High of the current Monthly Bar that would match the Charts would be:

MAXH21

While the formula for the current Calendar Week Bar could not be calculated yet:

MAXH21.'09/30/2010'

A PCF for the High of the previous Monthly Bar that would match the Charts would be:

MAXH21.21

While the formula for the previous Calender Week Bar would be:

MAXH22.'08/31/2010'

The following formulas are designed to match the Charts. If you want Calendar Weeks or Months, you would need to substitute the appropriate Periods and end dates in each of the Weekly and Monthly formulas.

Please offer some improvements for the following PCFs

I really can't suggest improvements as the trainers can't give setting, interpretation or investment advice. All I can do is show you how to implement your unambiguous objective definitions using our products.

Even in this case it should be understood that we do not offer a Personal Criteria Formula creation service. While completed solutions may be provided, they are for educational purposes only and are designed to hopefully help you learn how to create solutions on your own.

Short term strong uptrend: Xavgc8 > xavgc 8.1 and xavgc2 >xavgc2.1

You appear to have a complete Personal Criteria formula in:

XAVGC8 > XAVGC8.1 AND XAVGC2 > XAVGC2.1

QUOTE (jfisamm)
today is a down day : O>C

While I would normally consider a down day to be C < C1 (a Net Change based definition), some people (mostly candlestick devotees) consider your formula to be a down day as well. As with the first section, you appear to already have a complete PCF in:

O > C

QUOTE (jfisamm)
)today close is within 5% of yesterday's high:C>h1X95%

C >= .95 * H1

Thank you Bruce, you guys are wonderful..PCF for Bull kicker is (O1>C1) AND (O >=O1) AND (C>O),but i want to add another condition, ie today's body is greater than the average of past 5 day's bodies, excluding today, by 25%. Same for bear kicker w/ relatively big body. Also, can you suggest a method/scan/pcf to find stocks in a healthy trend,(some thing like xavgc10>xavgc10.5 and xavgc10.5>xavgc10.10 and xavgc10>xvgc50 ,etc) either or down,in the past 20 days, but with tight bodies and min tails?with my TC Gold EOD,will all the PCFs be updated, during the trading day only with 20-30 min delay ?If i want to find cross-over between price, indicators, indicators of indicators, which is easier, generally speaking, Telechart or StockFinder ?Thanks againjfisamm

O1 > C1 AND O >= O1 AND C > O AND ABS(O - C) > 1.25 * (ABS(O1 - C1) + ABS(O2 - C2) + ABS(O3 - C3) + ABS(O4 - C4) + ABS(O5 - C5)) / 5

Just add the following to the end of your Bear Kicker formula:

AND ABS(O - C) > 1.25 * (ABS(O1 - C1) + ABS(O2 - C2) + ABS(O3 - C3) + ABS(O4 - C4) + ABS(O5 - C5)) / 5

No, as you have no provided unambiguous objective definitions of "healthy trend", "tight bodies" and "min tails" (although you came very close with your PCF example for healthy trend).

If you Update both your data and your Personal Criteria Formulas, then yes, your PCFs will use the most recently downloaded 20-Minute delayed Daily data in their calculations.

As StockFinder generally just requires getting the Indicators into the same Pane and Scale and then Dragging and Dropping them onto each other to create the Condition, I would say it is probably easier in StockFinder.
