Hi.

I am currently using SF Gold (User Name : hockchien). I have some questions which I hope you can help (I have read the forum discussion/ask the training and the user guide for real code but somehow could not find useful/satisfactory answers)

1. Are there any Pre-defined scan available eg based on:
- support and resistance
- Bollinger Band squeeze
- Bollinger Band reversal
- Chart pattern eg triangles, flag, head & shoulder etc
- divergence

2. How to scan all the ETF rather than the component stocks inside (now when I open the tab ETF I can only select a particular ETF and the components inside)?

3. How to combine rules based on daily and weekly conditions eg EMA8 weekly is up but the EMA8 daily is down? (I read thru the whole user guide for real code but I am still not sure how to do it.)

4. How to create rule without having the indicators shown on chart (some indicators I may not show in the chart so that the chart is not too messy)?

5. Why whenever a combo / sequence rule is completed, the screen automatically turns to IE (and I have to click SF to return to SF)?

6. How do I create a rule based on fundamental data eg EPS/EPS Growth?

7. How to set the pointer to “cross hair” permanently/automatically rather having to keep pressing the “left click”?

8. How to remove a pane after it has been created?

9. What is freestockcharts.com for? I find very confusing that we have SF, Telechart and now freestockcharts.com. Why do we have so many different softwares since there are all Worden's?
Look forward to your kind response soon and thank you in anticipation.

Best regards,
Hock Chien

No. All of the built in Rules can be accessed by right-clicking on an Indicator and selecting Create Rule, Dragging and Dropping one Indicator onto another Rule or selecting Add Rule | Select....

2. How to scan all the ETF rather than the component stocks inside (now when I open the tab ETF I can only select a particular ETF and the components inside)?

There is an Exchange Traded Funds Watchlist containing the ETFs. It is listed under Component Watchlists.

Both of the Indicators or Rules need to be on the same Chart to combine them. This means at least one of the Rules is needs to be based on an Indicator with its own Time Frame instead of using the Main Time Frame. I've attached Price History and Volume Bars Indicators with their own Time Frames.

4. How to create rule without having the indicators shown on chart (some indicators I may not show in the chart so that the chart is not too messy)?

You can Pin the Pane containing Indicator to the left edge of the Chart so you don't have to look at it if you want. StockFinder 5 will allow you to create Rules based on Indicators without Plotting those Indicators.

I have no idea. I've never seen that happen. Ever (or heard of it happening for that matter). You may wish to contact technical support to see if they can help you resolve the issue.

All e-mail communication sent to support@worden.com during business hours (Monday through Friday 9AM-9PM and Saturday 9AM-3PM ET except holidays) should be answered within 20 minutes of arrival.

For an even quicker response to tech support questions, we recommend calling our voice line at (919) 408-0542 during business hours.

You can also contact us using Live Chat Support during business hours.

6. How do I create a rule based on fundamental data eg EPS/EPS Growth?

Add the Indicator to the Chart, right-click on it and select Create Rule.

QUOTE (hockchien)
7. How to set the pointer to “cross hair” permanently/automatically rather having to keep pressing the “left click”?

You can toggle Pointer mode by selecting the period key (.) on your keyboard. It will toggle between off, Pointer Mode and Pointer Mode with Data Box.

QUOTE (hockchien)
8. How to remove a pane after it has been created?

Select the X in the upper left hand corner of the Pane.

9. What is freestockcharts.com for?

It's designed to be easy to use free technical analysis software. Beyond that, all questions, comments and suggestions related to FreeStockCharts.com should be addressed to:

Thanks a lot.

Thanks but it there a simple way I can do it myself for all the other indicators I want to use eg EMA, BB etc?

That works for indicator in different panes. But if the indicators appear on the the main (price) pane how do we hide them?

Add the Indicator to the Chart, right-click on it and select Create Rule.

I tried but I got a message "Earnings Growht Rate 5-Yr requires Morningstar US Fundamentals Please call....." and similar messages for other fundamental indicators.

It works but the pointer won't move unless I left click on it and move it. How do it move it without having to keep pressing the "left click"?

The Indicators you mention are Child Indicators that can be added to Price or Volume. I suspect most Indicators can be created as Child Indicators of Price (even if it means you have to use the x of Indicator version).

You can left-click on the Indicator to bring up the Main tob of its Edit window and uncheck Draw On Chart.

Well yes, you do need to be subscribed to the data to use it. The Morningstar data in StockFinder is part of the Platinum Suite.

The arrow keys on my keyboard will move the pointer left, right, up or down as long as StockFinder has focus. I also don't have to left click on the Pointer and move it to use the Mouse to move the Pointer. Just left-clicking anywhere on the Chart moves the Pointer to that position on the Chart.
