i would like to exclude some symbols in a symbol series. I would guess the list scan can do this. However, I see that the input for list scan takes Truefalse(symbol) which i am not sure how to use.

You aren't going to find anything more than a few simple Boolean Logic Blocks that will work as TrueFalse(Symbol) Inputs. The List Scan Block is a legacy Block that was being developed for use back with Blocks 1.x but was never developed beyond its current state or used.

The way to limit a List in Blocks 3 is through the use of the Filter feature.

I am looking at the sub industry list but i found that the sub industry symbol is also in the list! Isnt only the stock symbol should be in the list?

The Industry and Sub Industry Watchlists contain their own Symbol as well as their components. This is by design.
