What would be the formula for:

1) A bearish SMI (13,25,3,3) crossover, and

2) A bullish SMI (13,25,3,3) crossover

Are you talking about the SMI outlined in Stochastic Momentum Index?

Days = 13
Smoothing Period = 25
Double Smoothing Period = 3
Signal EMA Period = 3
SMI is a green line
Signal = red line

Select Chart Template | Add Indicator | Indicator.
- Draw Color: Green
- Visible: Checked
- Center Zero Line: Checked
- Plot using price scale: Unchecked
- Smoothing Average: 1
- Average Type: Doesn't matter (because the Smoothing Average is 1)
- Indicator Formula: 200 * (24 * (XAVGC25 - (XAVG(MAXH13,25) + XAVG(MINL13,25)) / 2) - 2 * (XAVGC3 - (XAVG(MAXH13,3) + XAVG(MINL13,3)) / 2)) / (24 * (XAVG(MAXH13,25) - XAVG(MINL13,25)) - 2 * (XAVG(MAXH13,3) - XAVG(MINL13,3)))

Hi Bruce,

Yes,  I am talkiing about SMI outlined in Stochastic Momentum Index?
The two formulas I am looking for are the SMI crossing down through the signal (my understanding is that this is bearish) and the SMI crossing up through the signal (bullish). Am I correct on this? I will know as soon as I run the formulas.
