Hi guys,

I'm having trouble setting up a chart template, maybe because I can't really do this.

I want to set up $TICKQ and a 5-day MA of it in the middle window with a symbol, such as QQQQ in the top window for my bar chart. Trying to see correlations between extremes of tick with intermediate or short term turning points.

In the same way, I'd like to fool around with % above MA and  ratio of new high/new lows type thing.

Can that be done in a single template? Or would it be easier to set it up in Blocks rather than TC2007?

As far as I know you, can only chart $TICKQ in the upper window in Telechart. However you can do a side by side comparison, hence you maybe interested in this:

So by following the above, you can set up $TICKO and a 5-day MA in the upper window on the left and QQQQ in the upper window on the right. etc...

Thanks amberpax,

I had found those multi-chart layouts and played with it some before posting the question. I could do it that way, and I will probably do so. I was really hoping to set it up on one chart template and use it like an indicator, the way you'd view a MACD histogram in the middle window, for example.

jwnewsom,
In TeleChart, you can use Layouts (as already described by amberpax) to have as many as eight charts with their own Symbols simultaneously. The individual Panes of each chart will use the Symbol of its own Chart however. While it is possible to have Comparision and RS Symbols, this does not sound like what you want to do.

In Blocks, you can have different Panes use different symbols. You can either have multiple Watchlists to control the symbols used or you can have a symbol picker for each pane.

Thanks Bruce, and amberpax

I was able to plot $tickq in a lower pane in Blocks, set up my 5MA and then turn the 'price ' plot off leaving my indicator.

This worked beautifully.

Hi:

I have been told that I need to contact you for a formula to backtest.

I need a formula to find the stocks which hit a 52 week high on say:

1/12/2005, or 4/5/2006. That is on different dates in the past.

Thanks.

m42000 ,

You will want to create a new topic in Ask a Trainer and put what you want to accomplish in there. They will help you out.

m42000,

This is the PCF which returns a new high on 4/5/2006
C’4/5/06’ > MAXH252.’4/4/06’

I also provided some notes to help you regarding date syntax in your other post.

Hope this helps
Winnie
