Craig answered your question where you originally asked it in Boolean PCFs for Candlestick Patterns. Here is his response:

jfisamm,

Do you realize that "weekly" charts in TeleChart are actually 5-day rolling charts? A pattern seen on a 5-day chart today will likely disappear tomorrow.

What I am interested is using the weekly O H L C on a calender week...ie the Open price on Monday, the Hi and Low during the week and the Close on Friday as I only intend to run this PCF after Friday's close.
Is is doable?

Will this work for a weekly doji : O4=C or
(ABS(O4-C)<=((MaxH5-MinL5)*02 or
ABS(O4-C)/MaxH5-MinL5*100

If this is the right syntax for doji, then we should be able to write for other candle patterns.

What do you mean by rolling charts?
If I suspect a possible D. Top forming today on a weeky chart,will this pattern disappear when viewing a weekly chart tomorrow?

Thanks
jfisamm

The 5-day charts (called Weekly) in TeleChart are not based on calendar weeks. The are 5-day charts. For example, if I download today's close (Wednesday) and look at a"weekly" chart in TeleChart, the most recent bar will NOT be Mon-Wed (3 days). It will be Thurs of last week to Today (5-days). Tomorrow it will be Fri to Thursday (5-days).

Scanning for calendar-based weekly candles is not possible in TeleChart UNLESS the formulas are written for each day you plan on using it (and their are no market holidays).

As a side note, the charts in the Blocks Player are based on calendar time-frames.
