I need some help writing a scan for double bottoms that are happening within the last 10 days, 20 days, 5 days, etc. Please provide guidance.
Thanks.

I will make a video covering how to do this. Once it is posted I will put the link to it here.
It may take 48 hours before I get it made and posted.

I am still tweaking some of the ideas I have for this. Sorry for the delay. Hopefully, the video and technique I teach will be worth the wait.

After a few days of trying several things I think I came up with a decent solution for you. A complicated pattern like double tops and bottoms is hard to define in a loose enough manner to not eliminate potential candidates that are not "perfect" but still may be doubles when looked at with the eye.
This solution will find the price pattern you want, you should plot volume on the chart and look for the desired volume pattern into the pattern.
Create two EasyScans one for stocks in an uptrend, one for stocks in a downtrend. I used Price Growth Rate 1 year. For poor performers, I set it to a rank of 25 or less. For good performers, I set it to a rank of 75 or more. I also added Price per Share and Volume 90-day to narrow the field. Feel free to add any other criterion you require of stocks.
You will now have two WatchLists created by your two scans. Now sort by the indicator I teach in the video linked below on Stocks Bouncing in Channel in ascending order.
Scan for stocks bouncing in a lateral channel
I found some nice potential double tops and bottoms with this. As an added bonus, I found some head-and-shoulders too.

You can sort any WatchList by this PCF in ASCENDING order to find stocks consolidating over the last 3 months:
Trend/Consolidate 3-months
100*(MAXH63-MINL63)/(AVGH63-AVGL63)

QUOTEdo you have 20 day consolidating and a 10 day Please note the pattern
Trend/Consolidate 2-months
100*(MAXH42-MINL42)/(AVGH42-AVGL42)
Trend/Consolidate 1-months
100*(MAXH21-MINL21)/(AVGH21-AVGL21)
QUOTEwhat rank to i use what number for the 3 month There is no specified rank or value. I think it is better as a sort but you can limit the RANK as low as you like. The lower the number, the more it is consolidating.
QUOTEcan i get a formula for stocks consolidating in a flat range that are ready to move You can use the formulas I have for consolidations. You will have to determine which are "ready to move". That is something I cannot give. I don't know what stocks will move or not move in the future.
