Dear Craig,
Could you please briefly explain how can I interpret the result of your video?
Thank you

Interpretation of indicators (such as the TRIX in this video) goes beyond what we trainers can cover here in the forums. Let me make two suggestions.

1. Go out to Google and search on TRIX, and I'm sure you'll find several sources that will provide simple explanations of how to interpret the TRIX.

2. Search these forums for information posted here about the TRIX. You may run across some posts by people who are using the TRIX.

I do not use the indicator. I am little help there. I bet if you started a topic on how to use the TRIX in the Market Talk forum you would get some answers. Sorry!

this may be a silly question but wouldn't it be easeir to just pick a slower moving average of price and track its rate of change?  or is there something going on in the math there that i'm not grasping?

scottnlena,
The trainers can't give setting, interpretation or investment advice. My suggestion would be to set up TRIX as well as your alternative to see how they compare.

Craig,

That all sounded great, but as l am brand new to this, please could you explain what just happened? Is this so that you can more accurately forecast the likely move in the market in the next day's trading? Again, forgive my ignorance but what is a TRIX?

Thanks,

Vladimir

Craig,

Forget the TRIX question. I will look it up. But the First question would help.

Thanx

I personally don't use TRIX.  Some feel it can provide a better average than just a standard moving average.  I don't know if this is the case.  A regular simple or exponential average seems enough for me.
