Sort your WatchList by price, volume or indicator values based on real time data at any time interval. Find which stocks are crossing their 50-bar moving average on a 15 minute chart. Use a custom formula to identify stocks surging in volume over the last 5 minutes.

Okay Craig I did not have the same time chart.

Now for clarification if in top window I have a 5SMA and a 20 sma. I press the 5 sma for sort then comparison then the 20sma, comparison-visible and this should give me sort for crossover of 5 over 20 in realtime correct?

That is correct. Visual sorting is just that....it sorts base on what you see visually on the chart...regardless of what time frame you're looking at. Just follow Craig's instructions in the video.

Just watched the video and have to say - "wow !". I'm just a few days into my conversion from Gold to Platinum and I can see a whole new world opening up with the ability to sort real time (especially using my indicators).

The video uses an example of a watchlist of 100 but I'm confused about the sort limit of 200. If the watchlist is larger, does it sort the whole list but only "display" the top 200? For example, what if watchlist is all stocks sorted by P.W. notes?

The sorting limit of 200 symbols only applies if you're running an indicator sort with real time data.  If that's the case, it calculates the sort value on the first 200 symbols in the list and sorts them.

There is no symbol limit when sorting by canned criteria or PCFs.

I was hoping for more detail but I experimented and I think I understand now.  For a long watchlist, the top 200 seems to refer to the list as displayed per your sort.  For example, if I have a very long list sorted (initially) by symbols alphabetically A to Z then r-click an indicator on the chart to sort by, the top 200 would start with  A.  If my initial sort was alphabetically Z to A then the indicator sort would start with Z.

If the watchlist was S&P500 the "pre-sorting" could be used to ensure that those "of interest" were in the top 200.

Thank's,
rtdip

Correct.  If you're running an indicator sort with real time data, the top 200 symbols in the list as they are displayed will be calculated and sorted.

okiecarl,

If you want to watch the video offline or save the video to your computer, I do not know of a way.  This being said, the tutorial videos are always here for you.  Are there any topics that you have in mind?  We will be glad to point you in the right direction.

Thanks for your post!

No thanks on the pointing me offer.  The best way to learn is to do.  The more I am learing about Tc2000 real time the more impressed I am.  I make some pretty dumb mistakes but SO FAR they haven't cost me money (knock  on wood!!!)

Thanks Again

When I sort by an indicator, what does the time frame refer to, for example if I am looking for Volume Spikes using the formula (V / AVGV150) * 100, my chart template range is 15 mins,  what does the Time Frame in the Indicator sort properties menu refer to? Thanks.

jtodd15,
It refers to the Bars as they would be on the Chart. So in the case of a V / AVGV150 * 100, the V would refer to the Volume for 1 15-Minute Bar and the AVGV150 would refer to the Average Volume over 150 15-Minute Bars.

In the tutorial - Real Time Indicator Sortying, the instructer changed the Chart Template time frame to 15 minutes and then the Time frame in the Indicator sort properties to 1 minute. Why and what does doing this do? (He is using the same formula, V / AVGV150 *100

jtodd15,
The Time Frame for the Sort defaults to the Time Frame of the Chart but can be changed to override the Time Frame for the Chart. So having a Chart Template Time Frame of 15-Minutes and a Sort Time Frame of 1-Minute means the Sort will be using 1-Minute Bars even though the Chart is using 15-Minute Bars.

It is done this way so you can have a Sort using one Time Frame while viewing another Time Frame.

Why does the instructer change the chart template setting to 15-mins and then change the time frame in the Indicator sort properties window to 1 minute in the Real time indicator sorting tutorial. What does this change?

I'm not sure which tutorial you're referring to specifically, but probably to drive home the point that the sort is based on the time frame you select in the sort, not what the chart is set to.

OK, I was just wondering why the instructer made a point to to change the chart template setting to 15 mins and then change the time frame in the window to 1-minute.
