Build 20 is the final beta build: StockFinder 5 will be going live this week.   We will continue to fix bugs in the software as needed.   Thank you for all your help and support during the beta process. This has been one of our longest and most productive beta periods for any software release.    The beta forums will be closed in the next few days and we will be creating a new StockFinder 5 forum.  We will keep the beta forums internally for us to review any unanswered bug reports and suggestions.

As we begin to work on version 5.1 we hope to incorporate the many suggestions that we were unable to implement for version 5.   Currently our plans for 5.1 include:

- BackScanner engine overhaul

- Alerting

- New 64 bit threading model

A new section of Worden.com is now open with StockFinder 5 information, documentation and videos. We will continue to add and update more videos and documentation including a FAQ and a RealCode training page.

Once again, that you for your time and effort and we'll see you in the 5.1 Beta!

- StockFinder development team

======= StockFinder 5.0 build 20 5/18/2010 ========
- Fixed: RealCode paint schemes will now correctly update intraday
- Fixed: Double clicking on a Flag column will no longer select the symbol
- Fixed: Saved Indicators linked to Chart Start/End date will now correctly link to the new chart start/end date
- Fixed: Memory leak in WatchList when sorting by a linked column

I think it is strange to have the scroll bars in the browser window on ther sign-in. Has this always been the case?

Nope, that's an error with us updating the stockfinder website. We'll get it fixed.  [Edit] It's fixed now.

Glad to hear BackScanner is getting a make over!   I have been using it lately and there is one feature that would save me a lot of time and that is having the ability to specify a range of values and increments for the inputs of the conditions used in the rules and then have Backscanner run all posssible combinations and provide and rank the combinations.

Right now I use the tool with a spreadsheet and manually do this, and it takes a lot of time, yet the result are worth it.

I come from TradeStation and that platform provides this capability which is wonderful.

Keep up the great work Ken!

It was mentioned in the last 2 webinars on TC2000 that SF5.1 was going to be frozen as the last version. Is this in Beta?

Bruce,
Does the SF 5.1 beta co-exist with v5.0 or does it replace it?

Regards

Fixed % Log scaling does not work in StockFinder 5.1 beta.  This is a very valuable scaling method.  When will it be fixed?

We are looking into why your emails have bounced. It may be related to recent server moves. Thank you for bringing the issue to our attention.

How can I install SF 5.1 if I have already installed SF 5.0 build 0.39?

Do I have to use different folder? I’ve tried to do so – as a result when I run SF (I thought 5.1) it in the first gave me the following message: General Exception reading Manifest file (several times) and after it it started upgrade to 5.0.39 (although 5.1 has to be newer) and now when I run either icon SF 5 (for SF 5.0) or  SF5.1 (for SF 5.1) it always run SF5.0.39

Nevertheless I've install SF 5.1 (with help of tech. support - problem was in my regional setting).
But...as usual there is but…

Where are promised alerts? I can’t find ALERTS. I thought you were going to implement alerts in SF 5.1 but it doesn’t happen

So, SF will have somewhere them? When?

For me it is unbelievable situation – trading program doesn’t have alerts. Instead of them there is possibility to simulate them but it is not more then ridiculous.

It is a beta test. As noted in the first post, alerts are on the list of planned features for StockFinder 5.1. They have not been added yet however and I do not know when the feature will actually make it into the beta test.
